Purchased an Epiphone guitar from this company based on previous dealings with them which went without a hitch. Now I know, good company to deal with unless you have a problem and then that's where the customer service stops dead. Received the guitar on Friday the 23rd October. On taking out of the box I saw two huge cracks just behind the nut running down the back of the fretboard. I e-mailed Thomann right away explaining the situation and sending many photos of both guitar and the box. Neither the outer box or inner box was damaged and the guitar was well wrapped. I can only assume that it was shipped in this condition. I got many e-mails saying the pictures needed to be done again in all different ways So I did this. After three attempts they accepted the pictures with an e-mail saying "Unfortunately, from the pictures you have provided we can see that the guitar was damaged during transport" This is rubbish. here was no damage to the box. Anyway I asked for a replacement only to be sent 5 different forms which needed 3 to be completed by me and 2 by the post office who delivered the item as I was told it was them who damaged the goods???? After 3 hours driving to 3 different post offices I sent the paperwork back to them. Another e-mail saying the forms weren't filled in correctly so more form filling. Eventually I was told that a replacement had been sent by the fastest method on 7th November. I received the item on the 19th. They call that fast? Bottom line. Avoid like the plague and pay a bit more and buy locally. You wont regret it.
