Solid and very sturdy. The mat has nice grip. The holes in the metal trey that they mat sits in are way way to large. I can feel my food roll into them through the mat with and without shoes. Easily fixed with a 1/8" piece of hardwood ply cut to size. A 2x2 handy board is less then 10 USD and solved a problem it a shouldn't have. Just not safe as is.
