Very nice vertical leg press but with caveats for short people. For contacts I'm 5'4". 1. You need a step ladder to load the weights safely. You might be able to put small weights on the leg press but lifting 45 lb plates above your shoulders put your wrists in a really bad position since you have to hold it like a platter. 2. Make sure to put plastic barbell locks or spacers between your plates because it is very hard to get your fingers between the plates and to lift at the right angle to get the plates off. I wish there were horizontal posts instead of just the vertical ones. 3. You'll need a crash pad to be able to get full range of motion for your legs. This might not be the case for normal height folks but for me at my height I definitely need 6 in thick crash pad on top of the integrated backpad. All in all, these are great trade-offs for being so cheap. A regular leg press would run you around $1,800 so $1,400 savings but having to use a step ladders not a bad trade-off.
