I've had two orders on backorder recently. One was supposed to ship by April 20th and the other by May 3rd. The keyword here is "ship by"… which to 99% I imagine would be it's going to ship either on or before that date. Both times nothing shipped by those dates. It took almost a week to here back from customer service and the first order didn't ship until I sent at least five emails to customer service and after a week and a half passed.
Their products are great for the price however they have a terrible business model where they take your money instantly and never keep you in the loop. How about not doing pre orders if you can't fulfill the orders?
