I ordered $280 worth of groceries for my in-laws who live out of town to help out while they are grieving the death of a family member. The online platform through my phone prompted me to put in the delivery zip code that populated the correct city but there was no place to put in the actual address. So, I put it in the next best place "Additonal details." The delivery person said she attempted to contact me when she arrived at some random place populated by Uber's platform. Later when reading the note placed by the delivery person, it stated that she waited 5 minutes but because she received no response, she "cancelled the order." When my family notified me that they did not receive the groceries I contacted the customer service and they said the order was "completed." The delivery person dropped the $280 worth of groceries off at the random address. After several unsuccessful rounds with the online chat option I called customer service and they basically said I am out of luck and will not receive a refund. When I brought up the issue with the online prompts only asking for a zip code, they said "sorry, no refund." When I asked to speak with a manager to elevate the complaint. They said "sorry, we cannot help you. Maybe next time put in the right address." Uber is a multi-billion dollar company. A refund would have gone a long way. So much for customer service. I will never use Uber again.
