I’ve been an Uber and Uber Eats customer for years and I’ve never had an incident until last week. I was searching my options for Chinese food. I put a few items in my cart and accidentally hit “send order”. I immediately canceled the order and thought all was good, until I woke up the next morning to an email with an Uber Eats receipt for my cancelation. I was charged for the items. I explained to the Uber team that it was an accident and that I canceled the order literally 10 seconds after I had placed it. They denied giving me a refund because they said that the restaurant already started the order. When I tell you that I literally canceled the order within the first 30 seconds, it’s not an exaggeration. I told Uber that I was going to delete the app as well as all my account info. To that they said “we advise you not to do that”, what the hell does that mean? So I’ll keep it open, I just won’t be using it ever again. All I wanted was a refund because I accidentally sent an order. I don’t believe for one second that they couldn’t do that for me.
