I’ve had a deeply frustrating experience with Vinted, and I feel compelled to warn other potential users.
First and foremost, Vinted’s so-called “Buyer Protection” is practically nonexistent. When I received an item that was clearly not as described—damaged and unusable—I was shocked to find how difficult it was to get support. Despite providing photos and detailed evidence, Vinted sided with the seller, leaving me out of pocket with no way to appeal the decision.
Customer service is almost impossible to reach, and when you do manage to get a response, it’s generic, unhelpful, and slow. There’s no real accountability or way to escalate issues. You’re essentially left to deal with problems on your own, even if you followed all the platform’s guidelines.
To make matters worse, their policies are misleading and inconsistent, often favoring sellers regardless of the situation. It gives a false sense of security that you’re protected, when in reality, you’re taking a big risk with every purchase.
I understand that secondhand marketplaces carry some risk, but Vinted does little to mitigate this, and in some cases seems to enable shady practices. I won’t be using it again and strongly suggest others think twice before buying anything of value through this platform.
