Deeply Disappointed with Wickes Watford Bathroom Service
I genuinely don’t understand how this store continues to operate with such a staggering level of incompetence.
I booked a bathroom design appointment at Wickes Watford back in May. I was greeted by Shannon, who clearly had no intention of fulfilling the appointment — she rushed out the door, saying she was busy that evening. She promised to work on the design and send it to me the next day. I didn’t mind at first, but she didn’t even take notes during our meeting, which became painfully obvious over the following weeks as I chased her repeatedly for the design. After three weeks of silence, all she gave me was the manager’s email so I could ask someone else to do her job.
I had a very specific three-week window (end of August to early September) to get the bathroom installed due to personal circumstances. Thanks to Shannon’s social life, I was now in a time crunch.
Jamie, the store manager, passed me on to Ben. I made it crystal clear to Ben that if the bathroom couldn’t be installed within that three-week window, I’d have to postpone the entire project until winter or later. He assured me it would be fine. We finalised the design, and then Ben disappeared to Poland for a week and a half. When he returned, we confirmed everything, only to be told that none of the installers were available until after my deadline. They're now refunding me the whole 10k+ amount...because as I said, I would not be able to do this project unless it was in that window. They've wasted their time and money, and my time and money. For what? Like why do that?
It’s honestly baffling how a company can operate with such poor communication, broken promises, and zero accountability. This experience has been nothing short of embarrassing for Wickes. I won’t be recommending them to anyone.
