Review of Grubhub: A Disastrous Experience
I had an absolutely terrible experience with Grubhub that jeopardized my job and inconvenienced my client. As part of a professional engagement, I ordered a lunch for a lab consisting of seven different dishes. The driver picked up the order but immediately canceled it, claiming they couldn’t find the location—without even attempting to leave the restaurant.
When I contacted Grubhub to report the issue, their response was completely inadequate. They offered a refund in 5 to 7 business days, leaving me to reorder and pay again to ensure my clients were served. There was no attempt to address the driver’s actions or provide any real-time support.
Grubhub’s customer service was abysmal. They refused to investigate, call the driver, or escalate the matter meaningfully. Even after requesting to speak to their escalation department, I found their representatives had limited communication skills and were utterly unhelpful.
This level of poor service and lack of accountability is unacceptable, especially when it impacts professional relationships and commitments. I will never use Grubhub again and strongly advise others to reconsider using this platform for any important orders.
