I bought a Flair White Wooden Explorer Playhouse Bed in August 2024. By August 2025 the frame had already snapped clean through at a join. On a child’s bed. Let that sink in.
The quality was questionable from the start. The wood is low-grade, almost like chipboard. The paint chips off at the slightest knock and the whole thing simply is not built to last. Even when fastened together correctly, the bed would creak and flex at the slightest movement of my child. You could hear it from the other side of the house.
When I reported the failure (with timestamped photos proving it happened before the warranty expired), Flair tried to brush it off as “wear and tear”. They then framed any support as a “goodwill gesture” rather than accepting responsibility, and even suggested “excessive force” was to blame. Apparently, a child sleeping in their bed is misuse.
What makes this worse is their reluctance to help with what is a glaring safety issue. The bed has since been discontinued, and they admitted replacement parts might not even fit. Their answer? Send me parts anyway and hope for the best. Nothing says “quality furniture” like patching a broken child’s bed with leftovers.
And now, despite me providing clear proof that the damage happened within the warranty period, they are flat-out refusing to do anything further. Instead, they have chosen to ghost me because they apparently cannot handle a bit of snark from a frustrated customer.
This is not just poor service, it is unsafe. A structural frame failure in less than a year proves it was not fit for purpose. Flair clearly prioritises deflecting blame over child safety and their handling of this has been appalling.
If you want a bed that is actually safe and made to last, avoid Flair. Low-quality wood, chipped paint, poor build and a company that will not stand by its products.
