I have learned a lot of valuable tools in this program. You always hear references to being "mindful" but this program taught me the way to actually do that. I now have the ability to assess my hunger before and after meals, whether I am actually hungry or not, and when I do eat too much what drove that decision? I learned that sometimes we use food - because it is easy for us - to fill some other void or address some other stressor or issue. So taking the time to identify what exactly is stressing me out, upsetting me, or exciting me before eating that candy or chips or whatever is key. I may still have that food, but I want to have it on MY TERMS and not in an out of control way. One of the biggest things I also learned in this program was that I needed to give myself permission to eat foods that otherwise have been labeled "bad." This helped me finally see food for what it is - just something we consume to fuel our bodies - instead of a punishment, a cheat, a reward, or whatever random emotional assignment I give it. I'm not 100% there yet on this (I have a lot of years to correct), but I continue to work on it. I really appreciate my coach, Chrystal and what I was able to learn in this program. I highly recommend MyBodyTutor!
