I have always been a very physical person who enjoys moving my body. I grew up with an unhealthy relationship with food though. My goal with this program was to have more defined abs from all of the work I was putting in at the gym. Though I worked out in the gym 5+ days a week, I could not see my abs. Turns out the saying, “abs are made in the kitchen” is true.
I started the program back in July of 2021, and by November I had reached my goal of chiseled abs. As the years went by though, I fell into some old habits of emotional eating and wasn’t as happy with my relationship with food. I also had a bad relationship with the scale, weighing myself nearly everyday and allowing it to control my mood (and what felt like my life!).
By April of 2024 I decided I needed to do more work and re-joined. I did the program for one more year. No weighing, just monthly measurements. This change helped me immensely as I was able to pay more attention to my efforts and the way I was feeling, than a number on the scale.
I solidified my habit of bouncing back to great eating if I had a slip up: identifying and reflecting on the trigger that had sent me into eating more than was comfortable, and how to handle being out of my routine when traveling, etc. I even learned to handle balancing food and exercise with chronic injuries.
Through this program I learned about the details: emotional vs physical hunger, satiety, timing, supplements, the importance of protein, the danger of overdoing supplements and protein, and finally the importance of blood work to check in on how things are going from that standpoint.
I am a changed person from this program. I feel self-assured and calm about food and in my body in a way I never have before in my life. I am forever grateful to Heather and Adam! Best investment in me I have ever made!
