At first with all the advertising saying Winkl was disrupting the mattress industry with quality at affordable prices I did question the cost of the bed frame and if that really could be considered affordable? I already have a new mattress from another company. It was expensive and I when it arrived I was underwhelmed. My children also got new mattresses from yet another company. Theirs were cheap and along with a new slat frame seemed more comfortable than my expensive new mattress. Although my mattress was new it was placed on a second hand frame that was bought in a hurry. Its creaky and old. When the Winkl bed frame went on special I bit the bullet and upgraded. When the boxes arrived I could feel the quality just by the weight. The three pieces to the base are very heavy. They fitted together easily. On assembly it was noted that there was a screw insert missing which was a small but vital part in the construction. I emailed Winkl and they sorted out a replacement panel and pick up of the one with missing insert super quickly. I can't quite believe the difference the base has made to the comfort of the mattress. Its life changing. I take back the average review of my mattress now as this has completely changed. I recommend the Winkl base to anyone. Solid, stylish, no creaks at all and it fits together very easily.
