“Had to return these despite having a pair for many years which fit perfectly. The size was completely different and far too big ,ie long. Very disappointed and grudge having to pay postage.”

“I purchased my first pair of Back Door Shoes at Burleigh Horse trial some 3/4 years ago now and worn them virtually every day since them. Sadly they have now worn out and I have bought a new pair on line. I can't imagine being without them. Perfect back door shoes”

“They are excellent - bought my son a pair now and he loves them too. Save a lot of time when nipping out to the dustbin or doing a quick spot of weeding or penning up the hens. Would totally recommend them.”

“I have bought Backdoorshoes previously (size 5/38) and they fit perfectly, I absolutely love them! As my last pair are getting a bit scruffy now I decided to buy another pair. I ordered same size as before (5/38) but when they arrived they were far too big for me. I measured them against my old ones and found they were at least one size bigger. I contacted Backdoorshoes to tell them of the problem. I was told to return them with a note. I wrote an explanatory note, I enclosed photos showing the difference between my old size 5 and this new size 5, and I returned them asking for the problem to be investigated so I could order another pair. After all, I wanted another pair but didn’t know what size to order, ie was this a one-off fault in sizing or has your sizing changed altogether? In other words what size do I order now? Well I haven’t heard anything. Just got the money refunded. No explanation, no reason, no thanks for pointing it out, no nothing! So, what size shall I order then?????”

“The delivery of 3 pairs are christmas presents so have not been tried out yet. My pair are of the original vintage and are ancient but still very serviceable. New insoles needed though. Delivery was very quick. I hope the recipients of the pairs I have just bough like them. Pity the horse ones had sold out of the size I wanted.”

“We’ve bought BD shoes over the years at The Malvern Autumn Show and on line and have recommended them to friends. They are brilliant. To be be able to take the insoles out and thoroughly clean them and the shoes is great. Another plus is that they are excellent for walking on the beach! Everything to like in fact.....”

“The shoes are stylish and practical. I have one observation. The soles are quite thin and on more than one occasion, brambles have penetrated to my feet. This is a major concern as although I am not allergic to say rose thorns, my wife is and recently was hospitalised due to contact (although not through the shoes). I note that you sell linings separately. In my opinion, they should be integral to the shoes and not charged for separately. Jacques Gholam”

“I was disappointed with the pack of two pairs of insoles I purchased recently. I was expecting two identical pairs, of the same quality as were in my lovely back door shoes when I bought them. These are black, and and firmly padded with spongy material, very comfortable. The second pair are white, and of a much thinner construction. Also, although labelled as size 37, as are my backdoor shoes, I had to cut the toe end to fit the shoe. This was not specified on your website.”
