“There is very little I can add to what has already been said by the previous contributors. Outstanding accommodation, excellent food and an exceptional breakfast. I have stayed in hundreds hotels in my life and there is nothing I can fault apart from the fact that I would have preferred a choice of lagers as ?Carling? is not one of my favourite tipples, but this is purely a personal choice and should not be taken as a criticism of the accommodation but maybe as a suggestion of further improvement.”
“Over the Jubilee Bank holiday we had two nights stay at The Baron at Bucknell. We had an excellent time there. The bedroom was roomy, very comfortable and very stylish. We had food on both nights which was very tasty and good value. It was in a beautiful part of the country and there are loads of beautiful walks weather permitting!!!!!! In fact the weather was the only thing we would change as it was raining a lot but even that is beyond the owner's control. Thank you for a lovely two days. Deirdre and Roger Batten”

“I found The Baron by chance on Google. Very easy to book and looked a "nice" place to stay. "Nice" turned out to be wonderful and we'll certainly be back again. In a fantastic location with plenty of room, we were made to feel extremely welcome. Our room was very well appointed, very clean and very comfortable. Our evening meal was excellent as was our breakfast. I can only recommend The Baron very highly and have already given details to many of our friends.”

“Just spent three nights at the Baron.Arrived had a nice lunch were greeted by our lovely hosts Phil & Debra were shown to our Super room Fixtures & fittings would put many a fine hotel to shame.From then on it was simple.Good food and drink served by charming smiling staff and all at realistic prices.This place was a gem of a find.We never go back to any of our stays but we have friends who would love the Baron i feel i am going to break the habit of a lifetime and return.Thanks to all at The baron for a lovely Stay.As Arnie said I,ll be back.”

“My wife and i had a wonderful two night stay at The Baron.Our days out at nearby Ludlow, Berrington Hall and Powis Castle were made a pleasure knowing that a great meal and spotless accomodation awaited us at the Barron. The breakfast was excellent(full english) and the sirloin steak was top class. Philip and Debbie,the owners, where very helpful without over fussing. I look forward to returning to The Baron at Bucknell hopefully in better weather.”

“We found our stay excellent. On arrival there was perhaps a slight delay in sorting us with rooms, when we were ready to shgower, and relax a while before eating, following a long day's cycling. Staff were very friendly, rooms clean and well-appointed, beer good, food good and good value. Breakfast great, and we were well looked after; as were our bicycles.”

“As part of a group of 4x4 enthusiasts, I spent a single night in Room 5 in May 2012. The room was flawless, and the staff were as attentive as any I have come across in a long business carreer staying in many hotels around the world. You will be pushed to find better.”
“This is our second stay here and we have enjoyed it the second time around just as much as the first. The bedrooms are of a very good standard and are perfectly clean. The breakfasts are well cooked and well presented. The weather has not been great on either of our visits but we envisage sitting out in the garden on a balmy evening on a future visit”
