However, the standard of whiskey that comes out of Australia is second to none. It has honestly surpassed by far, many other excellent whiskeys I have tried from around the world. I no longer subscribe to other whiskey clubs. Just barrel lane. The selection is amazing.”
“Barrel Lane offer Excellent quality Australian Whiskeys. Historically, I am a blended scotch Whiskey drinker, so was slightly apprehensive.
The single malt selections are world class to date, from the rough and ready WA region to the Silky Smooth Tasmanian region. You can really taste the land these Whiskeys are brewed in. I love the literature that accompanies the beautifully packed bottles joy. A new month is my favourite time, every time.

“I’m very new to the whiskey world so I’m not sure how valuable this review really will be but I found to my pallet straight from the bottle. The whiskey was a touch sharp but I had a little bit of water and drink it at room temperature no ice and it was really really nice sharpness gone and the flavours came through.”
“I joined Barrel Lane based on the tasting notes for the Timboon smoked sherry offering. It arrived along with all the promised extras in the box and the tasting notes are spot-on. I’ve never done this with any other whiskey but I sit with my nose in the glass just inhaling the delicious aroma.
I live in a very, very remote part of Australia where post can take several weeks more than in other locations but my box arrived quickly and was as good as it looked in the ads.
A real issue I have with subscription services is getting trapped into a long, expensive contract. Barrel lane totally understood when I had a change in circumstances and had to pause my subscription and I’m sure if I wanted to cancel they would be as accommodating. No locked-in payments mean I’m in.
Barrel Lane has been everything I hoped and nothing I feared. So much so that I also joined Garden Street Gin club at their recommendation and I’m equally as impressed. I have no issue recommending either club and I have already brought several people in.
Great service with no hidden hassles to worry about.

“I don’t have a problem with the club. The Corowa whisky was rough. I haven’t been able to drink the sample bottle and don’t think I will drink it at all.”

“The whiky's are really nice. However I chose to leave because I do not like the ' Opt out' system.
It should be 'Opt in'. That way if someone forgets or is away from email for any reason they do not get an unexpected whisky ( and the cost for it ).
I know this is a marketing thing to sell more whisky. However if it is really a fun club it should not be designed to have people paying by default.
Anyway that's my opinion and why I have left.
