“I purchased an Ultramax SLAUMXLI40-12 battery from Battery Masters after their product page clearly stated that it "comes with a free 3-hour lithium battery charger worth £58."
The battery subsequently arrived without the charger.
I raised the issue with Battery Masters, who acknowledged that their website had advertised the charger but replied that this was "a mistake on our listing" and that the price I had paid was for the battery only. They offered to sell me a charger separately rather than honour what had been advertised.
What makes this particularly disappointing is that I checked the identical Ultramax product code elsewhere. Ultramax themselves, as well as a number of other retailers, advertised the same battery as including a charger.
After I raised the matter, Battery Masters subsequently changed their product page and removed the reference to the free charger. While correcting the listing for future customers is appropriate, it doesn't resolve the fact that my purchase was made while their website expressly stated that a charger worth £58 was included.
I gave Battery Masters ample opportunity to resolve the matter directly, either by supplying the advertised charger or refunding its advertised £58 value, but they declined to do so.
I am therefore pursuing the matter through my credit card provider.
Very disappointing. My advice to prospective customers would be to take a screenshot of the product description when ordering and check carefully that everything advertised is actually supplied.”
