I have been tracking my car’s value on sites like carmax and carvana over the last few months. (Tesla Model 3)
Yesterday morning I went onto BidBus thanks to a FB ad and submitted my Tesla Model 3. Their quote beat the other offers by about $2k.
By 11am I had uploaded photos of my car to their site to be submitted for their auction of dealers.
By 2:30pm I had a winning bid from a dealership that was $300 above my minimum reserve price that they set.
The next morning at 11am I arrived at the dealership to officially sell my car.
They inspected my car to make sure it matched the photos I submitted. They noticed one tiny black mark on the bumper that didn’t show in the photos but didn’t haggle on their price.
An hour later all the paperwork was signed and I left the dealership. Super easy process.
I’d say 5 stars for my process start to finish.
Some tips: Get your car washed for the photos. The whole auction process runs from the photos and your declarations of the vehicle and mileage it seems.
Take all photos of any damage cuz the dealership will check. I’d assume they’d negotiate price down if you didn’t show something in your photos. I had submitted specific photos of 2 wheels w curb rash as well as a small scratch on my rear bumper.
Allow maybe an hour at the dealership for the process.
That’s how it went for me. A successful sale facilitated through BidBus all completed with about 26 hours start to finish.
