“I'm someone who has become (since discovering the Bold Bean Company) totally obsessed with beans. The Bold Bean company supply a wholesome variety of beans - most in a delicious stock/broth that can either be eaten cold or that can be used as part of a recipe. They have recently also developped their own versions of "baked beans" in sauce. Tomato and Chilli... both equally delicious. I'm a particular fan of their Chickpeas and Carlin Peas! I'd never even heard of Carlin Peas before they started stocking them, but like all their beans (oh yes, their butter beans are to die for too) they are scrumptious and make a wonderful addition to many recipes. If short of the odd "bean recipe" they also sell their own cookbook stuffed with delicious ideas. If you think of beans as being the traditional "tinned beans", think again. These bottled beauties are nothing like that. I find even eating them with a spoon straight from the jar delicious as they are all slow cooked in the most delicious broth. Anyway, as you can tell, they get a huge thumbs up from me and I order on subscription direct from the website (where you can get some discount). Give them a go... I feel sure you won't be disappointed - and of course you will then reap the health benefits too!!!”

Can I ask what is it about the packaging which is annoying or could be improved? Our goal has always been to minimise environmental impact, which is why we’ve chosen fully compostable and recyclable materials wherever possible. But we totally understand that some of it can be fiddly or less convenient. Your thoughts are genuinely helpful, and we’ll keep them in mind as we continue refining how we pack and ship.

“Dear Bold Bean, I shop in Waitrose in the South east, but I am originally from Cumberland, where Carlin Sunday is a big thing. So when I saw your product on the shelves I was unusually excited. They are much bigger than the Carlins I knew as a child, indeed the dishes now served up in pubs on the Sunday are also small. I have a stock in my cupboards incase you stop making them. I'm sure 90% of the population have no idea about them. I ordered on line from you as Waitrose didn't have the Carlins, have they stopped buying them? Perhaps you should do some advertising”

You’re right: most people don’t know about Carlins, which is why we’re on a mission to bring them back onto our shelves. Waitrose hasn’t stopped stocking them, but availability can vary by store.
