The Colne branch has a Paul Costelloe outlet selling purses, gloves leather goods etc. The staff Jane, Naimah and Lauren gave truly exceptional customer service helping me over a period of time by sourcing a particular item I needed to exchange, it was out of stock in that particular store. They all kept in touch with me to update at regular intervals, and eventually managed to find me an acceptable alternative to the goods I needed to exchange. In this day and age, it is more usual to find a review with regard to giving bad customer service, definitely not the case here !. That particular team are indeed an asset to your Colne branch. Well done ladies and a huge thank you.

There is plenty of parking massive choice with everything of high quality and presented well with plenty of room to wander. I got lots of bargains with genuine reductions: two lovely woollen jumpers half price from M&S and some china vegetable dishes at a vastly reduced price. Well worth the trip from Cheshire. The only downside is they don't sell children's shoes.

THIS IS A FORMER EMPLOYEE REVIEW!! (Posted On Indeed Also) During my time at Boundary Mill I worked both in retail and hospitality. Both experiences were awful. Retail/Concession To begin with, I was never given a contract or anything that resembled one. I didnt receive any training or information regarding how to merchandise/place orders/deal with requests/what a sales bin meant or how it worked/my entitlements like breaks/writing rotas etc - just to name a few - most of which was the bosses job, NOT MINE. I was never checked in on, always worked alone and was left to fend for myself without any prior experience. The bosses seemed to always be unavailable whether that be a holiday or ‘business trip’. Communication only happened when I initiated it and even then it was unhelpful; this included numerous occasions where I had to query underpayments and was accused of lying. The neighbouring concession staff were standoff-ish and intimidated instead of friendly and approachable. At the age of 16, this was, as you can imagine, very confusing and scary, so as a result of my exit interview, I got part of the concession itself kicked out of the store due to terrible management. This took a major toll on my self-confidence which has now resulted in frequent, anxiety driven stuttering because of the horrid and unprofessional behaviour of my then bosses. The Hive/Hospitality Whilst working in the Hive I encountered some issues with tax. Expecting to receive help and guidance from payroll and HR, I was grossly dismissed and my queries were disregarded, forcing me, at 17, to navigate through an issue I had no knowledge about. More recently, I have seen a dramatic (and rightly-so) decrease in staff both shop floor and hospitality. Everyone left to keep the doors open were and still are, shown 0 respect, appreciation or acknowledgement but instead get dealt Prosecco and nibbles events as well as Pimms with no warning or explanation - leaving the remaining staff with hundreds of frustrated customers standing and waiting for strawberry’s to be cut etc. This was due to no time for preparation and deliveries hadn’t been done to accommodate the demands, meaning we have (on several occasions) resorted to going to the local Asda for the necessities; eg - strawberries and milk in particular. I wish I could say that they care about the welfare of their staff but it is evidently the opposite! The Bannisters themselves are clearly oblivious to the downfall of their empire even when taking visits to The Hive and other departments. I’d like to say I would never shop there after knowing the laughable state the branch is in, but they do carry some good deals. However, I would definitely not recommend shopping, supporting or working for Boundary Mill! DON’T BOTHER. Pros - N/A Cons - Everything!
