BE CAREFUL ADMIN FEE £35! Please do not get a car insurance! I took insurance under a year ago and oh my what I did not realise this company was about and thank God that my policy is ending soon. Story was that we moved house and my address changed. So as being a lawful citizen I went straight to Brightside to update my address. They advise that policy changes can be done on online account and be assured it cannot! They have no option to do changes on the account. Then I tried to message their online chat support and they cannot do address changes there and referred me to a number to call. Calling was an absolute nightmare. I was calling almost every day and call would take 30-50 mins for my patience to rin out. They have option to leave number for a call back but rest assured that never happens. I must have called 4 times with no luck in a week. This morning I have finally manged to get through to a different line to cancel renewal (as no way I am renewing with Brightside oh nooo!) that they sent over during the weekend and asked agent to put me through for address change. And this is how I managed to change my details. But wait, they charge £35 admin fee for address renewal!!! YES £35 to change address. Not like other normal companies that may refund you for moving to a safer area (like actually my partner did) but charging admin fee for just a change. As I complained on call that I did not manage to get through their calls and was very dissapointed with service this nice lady (she was actually really helpful so people that work there is not a problem) on call waived the fee. But OMG stay away from them as God forbid if you need to claim if they are such a nightmare to get hold off and charge admin fees!

Do not answer phone. 45 minutes on hold. I tried the claims line but they could not help me but said it would be at least 4 days for Antone to get back to me. Can’t log on to account. Can’t leave a message. Worst possible company to deal with. I have to take out a new insurance because I’m changing cars. I hope I can get a refund! What a dreadful lot to deal with.

After several years with this company, always paying in one go and no claims, offenses of changes, I've just received notification that they can't get me a renewal quote this year. No explanation as to why and no link or number provided to query it. Complete rubbish IMO; if I'd known they treat customers like this I would never have given them my business.

When they needed my money the call connected in a few minutes. When I wanted to cancel I couldn't do it online and have been on several 1 hour 20 minute calls with them on hold only for it to connect (hearing some voices in the background) then cut off after a minute of me saying "hello". This is clearly by design and I wouldn't be surprised to find that this call centre has some way to screen callers based on if they're making or not making money. Disgusting.

Crooks, cancellation fees are as much as the outstanding 6 months policy payments. I almost wouldn't mind their £60 cancellation fee but the extra 90 they stick on top is criminal. And to boot this is all because they won't insure my new vehicle. Like others say...AVOID. wish I had seen the reviews beforehand

Disgusting company. Stay well away. Let’s start with if you want to just talk to them…. That’s a 45 minute wait minimum on a premium rate number to a UK company. 2nd if they send you out your actual no claims bonus you better check it’s correct if not you’ll need to prover otherwise and then ring them again to get it sent out and that’s if they do. I’m ringing them right now with a waiting time of 48 minutes currently. They owe me 15 years no claims…… sent me 3 and I’ve made no claims.

Worst insurance company ever please AVOID. They are total scammers trying to make me pay an extra £282 on a policy cancelled 2 years ago! All cancellation fees were paid on the same day I rang in to cancel the policy but they now saying I've not paid it so I sent them my bank statement to prove I have and they have not responded and still sending me emails to chase a non existing debt! Totally ridiculous stupid company!!

Disgusting service. If I could do a minus star I'd do plenty. Takes hours to get through and they have just deducted £70 from my account for no reason. Do not use this company. They are totally rubbish.

If i could give minus stars it still would be too much!!!! Worst company to deal with. Customer service representative was ok but got a bit “cocky” towards the end of the call as he and the company are a joke. Their costs and charges as astronomical, so if you are planning on selling your car through your 12 month period be warned you will more than likely be charged more than what it still outstanding. £60 fee here, £20 fee there, the list goes on. There is no sense or desire to treat customers fairly. I will never use this company again and i will share my story with all friends and family. Be warned!

I was disgusted they wanted to charge me £35 administration fee to change my email address when it requires absolutely no effort on their part. I will look for another insurer on renewal.

Disgusting service. Just tried to swap my insurance over from my old company which insured my van to Brightside which is insuring my New vehicle. (Car). I had a 9 year no claims on my last policy: Although CVD is a sister company of Brightside and they are under the same umbrella so to speak, Brightside said I would have to send them the no claims document myself as they said they did not have access to CVD computer system. They are in the Same building and not one member of staff could go across to CVD to ask for them to send the no claims by email. It was all put on the customer. After chasing CVD to send the no claims to me I eventually sent it to Brightside and asked for this to be sent to me by post. To date I have received nothing. CVD said they had sent the no claims by post twice and that both times the letters had been sent back with return to sender no longer at this address. Yet when we checked they had exactly the right address, so how was this possible to happen twice. Once maybe but twice!! Brightside then said that everything had been received and all was ok and I was definitely insured. Only to be told in an email the following day that Brightside had cancelled my insurance!!!! WTF. Then another email stated to ignore previous email and that I was insured after all. I had been emailing a named customer service person to say the PDF document he sent could not be opened. It was resent but when I tried to check something with them again, all I got was an out of office reply. Nothing but stress and messing me about. I am with this company for 1 year unfortunately. But will definitely be changing when my insurance is due again.
