“I was lead to believe that this was a healthy drink. I have type 2 diabetes so I bought this product as part of a healthier lifestyle to cut down my sugar consumption.
The NHS recommends that free sugars – sugars added to food or drinks, and sugars found naturally in honey, syrups, and unsweetened fruit and vegetable juices, smoothies and purées – should not make up more than 5% of the energy (calories) you get from food and drink each day. This means:
Adults should have no more than 30g of free sugars a day, (roughly equivalent to 7 sugar cubes).
This product contains approximately 18.5g of sugar per serving. This is far too much for one drink for a diabetic individual.
On the front of the can the only mention of sugar states 0g. Then on the reverse the same statement is repeated. It took extensive searching to find the true amount of sugar in the product. The print is tiny and difficult to find. Then mathematics are required to convert it to a serving size amount. This is misleading.
When I contacted customer services to point out that it is misleading I did get a refund, however, rather than them accept that the product is misleading I was told that the there is no added sugar once again, despite this being my exact point. Just because you haven’t added sugar doesn’t mean that there is 0g of sugar. 18.5g of sugar is 18.5g of sugar no matter how it got into the drink.”
“Tastes ok, but nothing I want to drink every day. In terms of energy, it does not work. I can drink two cans right before sleep and I see no effect. I sleep like a baby.”
“Well it seems to be better than monster energy drinks. It not make me feel more focused actually.
It give enough power boost to survive the day, without feeling dull or underpowered after work.
Only one down side to me is pricing.”
“Not sure if it was because of the delivery, but they felt completely flat, not even lightly carbonated. But the flavors feel natural, and the feeling is good after drinking them. I will buy in shops if there is a discount because the price is currently the biggest limiting factor for me.”
“It has good taste, mainly the Raspberry/Mint one. I didn't feel any difference in focus, but to be honest, I never do with caffeine (coffee, Redbull, etc).
I feel it is a good alternative to traditional sodas.”
“I usually drink energy drinks mostly for the taste, but I don't notice much of an energy boost from them. For a real energy boost, I typically go for matcha, which actually works for me. Since Brite also contains matcha, I can feel the energy effect, and I feel better knowing I'm drinking something made from natural ingredients. Plus, it's convenient since I can take the can with me wherever I go. I only took away one star because lemon mint flavour with mint tastes a bit weird”
“I have tried the mixed package of Brite and must admit that I am disappointed. The taste is naturally a personal preference, but I don't really like it. Not that it is bad, but just boring. However, as an energy drink, the most important is naturally that it gives energy, which, for me, it doesn't. Compared to Nocco or Red Bull there is little or no effect at all.”
