The Carphone Warehouse was founded in 1989 to bring mobile services to consumers. The market has always been complex and our aim from the very beginning has been to offer our customers simple, impartial advice while also offering outstanding value. As a result we have grown from a handful of stores operating exclusively in the UK selling mobile handsets and contracts, to a European-wide platform of over 1,500 stores in 10 countries, providing a wide range of mobile and residential telecoms services.

I have just had the most confusing and irritating experience at Carphone Warehouse Wigan. I went in very concerned as I had just dropped my phone and cracked the screen. The assistants looked more like casual customers and any information was mumbled and confusing. After a chat I decided to buy covers for my phone. The boss who had been talkng with someone for a long time, disappeared in the back to look for something for me and then was too busy to come out again, so my phone had to go to him (out of sight of me) to have a screen fitted. The assistant dealing with me, constantly asked, to the point of irritation, about everything "Is that ok" even when I had already said "Yes". I came away irritated, wondering if I had done the right thing and worried because I had let my phone go out of sight and therefore, even more concerned than ever.

My Wife and I took out monthly contacts 4 days ago for £15/month Sim-only deals. IE £360 per annum for no phones. The instructions to port our phone numbers from the awful O2 were so bad that we had to call our carphone warehouse branch to clarify the requirement. Our calls weren't answered though we had to queue for ages. Now it seems that our ludicrous deal (too many free minutes and texts) don't even cover calls to carphone warehouse itself. So I'm being asked if I want to increase my monthly cap. Why can't these guys give a product that is priced honestly?

I started a contract for a Samsung Galaxy S7, the lady who served us on the day was very helpful, polite and informative, however, at the end of the sale, when talking about covering the product, told us that if anything went wrong with the phone, could be taken back and replaced on the day within 30 days of purchase. Once I unboxed the phone, I placed the simcard into the sim/memory card tray as instructed, however the simcard slipped out the of the tray as I pushed the tray into the slot on the phone and as a result, the simcard got stuck in the slot on the phone. The next day I took the phone into the store that I started the contract with; once I entered the store I spoke to the lady who served me and she fetched a man from the "Geek Squad" as he had more "technical knowledge" than her. Upon meeting the man, he gave off a very toxic attitude straight away, instead of simply greeting us he instead told us to go over to his desk, without a smile, introduction, greeting or without simple eye contact. He then looked at the slot on the phone, and proceded to stick a METAL pin/paperclip into the slot/internal area of the whole (when I told my work colleagues this earlier, they simply called him a ******* idiot). He then gave us a piece of paper and told us to go to Samsung to fix the problem... keep in mind that this is ONE DAY after the contract was started. I didn't take a name of the colleague, however he was serving at the Meadowhall Carphone Warehouse store on the 16th December 2016 at roughly 11:00 AM (in the "Geek Squad" department of the store, although the gentleman seemed to have the technical knowledge of the caveman, instead of a geek). Simply put, if you make so much as a simple human error, even on the first day of purchase, they will treat you poorly and not give you the result as promised.

I purchased a phone which should of had 15 pounds credit with it. The credit was not there so I purchased another 15 pounds of credit so I could use the phone.I called carphone warehouse the next day and was told I had to wait 48 hrs to et the credit I had purchased with the phone. It may be naïve of me but maybe they should tell you this when you receive the phone so now I have two lots of 15 pound credit.WTF.

Bought an iPhone SE from Kings Heath, Birmingham store in July this year for £359 i.e. the full price because I wanted an 'unlocked' phone for an existing SIM. Recently, changed network provider to find that the new SIM wasn't usable. It took a degree of on-line searching to learn that iPhones sold by CPW lock to the service provider of the first SIM inserted. Getting them unlocked must be done by that service provider or a company specialising in that task. This can be a lot of bother and potentially quite expensive (£50-£100). At the time this issue was not communicated by CPW. This problem is not confined to CPW, apparently, so check before you buy!

Bought a phone for my son yesterday. The assistant manager, who we asked for advice, did not hide her lack of interest in my queries. It was very difficult to engage any of the team to give advice. Once we decided on the phone we were told we would receive a free accessory pack. This turned out to be an error. We were initially quoted annual insurance as £20. This went up to £24.99 and finally £39.99. We wasted a great deal of time and energy being encouraged to take up deals that changed before our eyes.

They advertise that they can deliver the I phone 7 plus by a definately date. When you have paid they then say there is no stock yet. Do not believe their website. I have re checked just now and they are promising delivery 24%th October. Wait and see

When they try to sell you a new phone don't be kidded by the comment from the salesman saying 'we will take care of everything'. What they do is sell you something then when it doesn't quite work out YOU have to chase the provider not them. I quizzed the salesman on the phone several times before buying the new handset as I had been conned the last time with the cost of a new contract when the old one ran out. Paying an upfront sum and a final bill, only to have a few days later another bill from O2. As expected their reply - go and ask O2! This is the last time I will ever use carephonewarehouse.

I found the manner of the assistant at Felixstowe abrupt in the extreme. There was no attempt to engage with me as a customer and an overall approach verged on the unfriendly. I was not seeking to take up an inordinate amount of time, nor was there a lengthy queue behind me, so I find his attitude quite inexplicable

I ordered a phone on a Saturday as my contract had ended and I needed a replacement. So they said they would post on next day delivery, so would 'arrive Sunday' I was told. It is now Tuesday and still no sign of the phone. I have spoken to customer services once and they have said the order should be with my 'tomorrow, the next day or maybe the day after that', it is so unorganised and the postage service is shockingly bad.

Stay away from iD mobile. Porting your number is a straightforward process but not for them. They don't have the technical know-how. Carphone Warehouse should scrap iD network to save their reputation. 9 days later am back on previous network with a new number ?

Nothing wrong with Carphone Warehouse but they need to remove their association with the iD mobile network. This virtual mobile company are technically challenged and incapable.

LONG RUNNING SAGA WITH CARPHONE WAREHOUSE TAKES YET ANOTHER TWIST AND TURN!! Further to my previous e mails, regarding the repair of my Samsung Galaxy S4, which has been ongoing since 30/12/15,when I left it for repair, approximately six weeks ago. Quite honestly,it has proved to be an extremely unpleasant experience, with a series of unbelievable, totally incompetent examples of atrocious customer service, with regard to the so-called "Repair Service." On 18/2/16, I received another text, informing me that my phone had been repaired AGAIN, and was available for collection. .On entering the store in Darlington my hopes were somewhat raised when I noticed the presence of Adam, who on all previous occasions has proved to be an absolute credit to the company, and, he, himself, in my honest view, is fully worthy of a 5 star rating. However, based on my previous experiences,he has had the unpleasant task,of working diligently, on my behalf, in an effort to correct the totally incompetent errors made by others who are not visible in the store. In fact, this, unfortunately, was to prove the case YET AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As i waited for the apparently simple task of collecting a repaired phone, my initial trepidation began to be confirmed, as Adam disappeared into the back room for quite a considerable time, only to state that the wrong phone had been sent YET AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!! ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!! How do some people manage to get jobs and keep them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?????? By now, my considerable patience was finally exhausted, and I calmly recorded a formal complaint and also stated I would immediately e mail the chairman of CPW directly to voice my grave concerns. Adam, again went on the phone, for a considerable time and finally, for, whatever the reason, someone in CPW decided to use a little bit of common sense, and i was offered a " truly new" Samsung Galaxy S5 neo,as well as a S5 Essentials Pack, which I decided to accept, though I would have preferred to have had my original S4 Galaxy repaired correctly. Throughout this extremely, prolonged, unpleasant experience, I have consistently complimented the staff in the Darlington store on their overall customer service, in particular Adam. However, one member of staff certainly did not impress me ,when I politely asked her where Adam has disappeared to, only for her to reply in an extremely abrupt manner, then to instantly , rudely turn her back towards me ! In conclusion, I have become aware of not believing the vast majority of what CPW say, but I feel relieved that this extremely unpleasant experience will not be repeated, as CPW has totally lost me, as an ex loyal customer.

This is particularly about the team in Curry/Carphone Warehouse in Carmarthen. They are selling not their product & service but the frustration and anger to customers. I was trying to buy a phone from the shop and to use the 50 quid voucher given from Curry. Only one guy there was keen enough to find an option but all others could spending hours selling talk. Once I brought 3to2 offers for 2 shields and a case, now they are arguing with me about an invoice which they have never given to me but did not keen to went through their system to match the invoice given to me in many occasion but later to make the second argument “it is outside the 28 day" And many more about this rubbish place where no worth of spending our valuable time.

Went into Carphone warehouse for a straight upgrade from a 5C to a 6S with EE. Took about 2 hours as there was a difficulty with my number which I have had for 5 years. They assured myself and my mother, that it was all set up and I could pick it up the following week. They also assured me my 5C would work until I picked up my new phone. It was cut off for 3 days prior to receiving my new phone and when I went in to pick up the 6S they said they should of mentioned my new sim could of been put into my old phone in the meantime-for someone who is so un-technology, which I stated multiple times, this was a tad annoying. I live 30 miles from the shop so they again assured my service would appear within 1-24 hours but can sometimes be slower on weekends. So I waited 48 hours and knew something was wrong. We phoned up Carphone customer services and they advised my new sim had been processed 4 days ago so should be working fine so obviously it was a sim fault and said to go up to Carphone warehouse and get a new sim. So we drove 30 miles again. Waited in the que for them to say actually you need to go across to EE for that as it there's problem. So pretty much passing the buck. Irritated, we went across to EE and again, they gave us a new sim and said wait up to 24 hours. So again we waited and nothing. So we have phoned up again!!! And they said actually a week ago when it came up a difficulty with my number, someone deleted it!!! Beyond annoyed by the whole situation. Been 5 days without a phone, paying £50 a month which I haven't used at all yet. Wouldn't go back to Carphone warehouse, too much of 3rd party interference. No ones apologised for the inconvenience. I use my phone for my job, one being a nurse so it is vitality important for myself to carry a phone. Not impressed

Poor communication: I ordered a phone online from the Carphone Warehouse and was soon sent an email acknowledgement that my order had been received and would soon be processed. Three days after ordering I called the Carphone Warehouse and after a 10 minute call established that the order had been cancelled because I had failed the "security check". I had no problem with this as I had seen a better deal elsewhere and was phoning to cancel this order myself. I was unhappy that I had not been informed about the cancellation in any way whatsoever. A very poor experience and I will not be using this company again. If you choose to do so, be prepared to keep chasing the firm for information as communication with potential customers is patchy.

I visited car phone warehouse in Lymington in the hopes of discussing changing phones and provider. 5 people waiting with only 1 member of staff who was advising a lady on a pay as you go deal. He was very patient and helpful to her so good for him but after 15 minutes of discussing whether she pay £11 or £15 per month I gave up. Inadequate staff. I won't be wasting any more time there.
