“This is a great litter & fantastic alternative to clay litters, which can cause asthma etc. —though I found it came with a learning curve! Since I would have loved knowing this when I first ordered, I’ll share some tips I’ve discovered, and hopefully they will help some of you out there ; ) (1) The litter expands as it absorbs the urine and gets sifted. So you don’t need to fill your box as high as you normally would initially. It may even seem like you don’t have enough in there, but the litter will immediately start expanding upon use. (2) The life of the litter depends on how much your cat urinates. So you can go through it faster or slower depending on how much water your cat has been drinking. My cat is on 100% raw food, and gets most of his water from what gets mixed in. So if he’s eating more, I notice that I may need to change it a day sooner. On another week I may go a day longer. (3) I only put an inch or so of litter to start the box, and change it every 7 days. This usually gives me 4 1/2-5 changes (4-5 weeks), which matches up with the 1 bag/month average, and often gives me some to go into the following month with. (4) I’ve noticed that the sooner I sift the urine in the litter after he’s gone to the bathroom, the longer the litter seems to last. These days if I hear/see him heading in, I sift it right away and there’s almost no smell. (5) A high box will help with mess, though it’s super easy to sweep up, and leaves no residue etc. on your floors like the clay can. I still have a low box, and it’s not big deal to sweep up daily. All in all, it’s a really great litter that is much healthier and easier to manage once you get the hang of it. And I LOVE how light it is, and how easy it is to change.”

“The bags commonly have a small tear upon delivery at one of the corners and it makes a little mess. My last package had a major tear at the seam in the middle and a lot of it came out. Customer service did the right thing and told me they’d send me a replacement bag. Other than the recent packaging issues, this product delivers!”

“My cats like it better than I do! I find that I need to empty it completely at least once a week. Yes, I stir and stir, but it really holds the ammonia smell more than regular scoop littler. But they like it and as long as I empty the whole thing every week, I can get by.”
