“Every few interviews I'll see a candidate who preferes vim and wants to answer the question on their own computer. I'll tell them they can use the terminal and the vim is shared, and they're always amazed. Frankly, I don't know why other platforms can't do this. They all have shared terminals, seems easy for them to make it navigable enough to be an editor.”

“We kind of went all in on it. We use it for onsite and pre-screen as well as normal interviews. It's definitely paid off: frankly kind of surprised it works for everything. It's basically the same interface for the candidate at every stage.”

“It's great for senior engineers. It's not easy to convince someone very senior to do a standard interview, so we didn't try. We told them they're doing a real engineering problem. Not sure how we could get to see them code otherwise. Kind of amazing you can do that with this.”
