“Absolutely horrified at what I’ve had to experience with Dingmaster Bristol these last few days. My vehicle had gone in for repair, I was given a courtesy car to which the driver literally just handed me the keys & left. Nothing signed, no checks done, no discussion regarding the vehicle. When I went to use the vehicle a tyre error appeared on the dashboard. I took it to check the tyre pressure & put some air in tyres (which should of all been done before the vehicle was given to me). 2 days later the tyre blows! I’ve had to call out my recovery & have the tyre replaced. I called Dingmaster to advise, I also asked where I stood with the costs due to the fact that there were no checks done on arrival, no liability paperwork signed or anything. This was their drivers error! The manager Wayne Stratford completely jumped down my throat! ‘Oh so your expecting me to pay for a tyre you burst!’. No I’m asking you to simply refund me for a tyre I’ve paid for on a car that you’ve provided that was not checked!! He was rude & obnoxious. How this man is employed to deal with customers I do not know! If your staff had done as they should of & everything was in order I would have completely accepted liability & the cost of the tyre. You have taken no responsibility what so ever! Absolutely disgusting.”
“More damage AFTER the repair than BEFORE the repair work!
I took my van in to DingMaster Swindon for damage on the rear door and rear wing. Upon collecting, I discovered that there was scratches on the other rear door, rear wing and drivers door.
We immediately brought this to DingMasters attention where we were immediately confronted with hostility and told that they are not having an argument about it and to prove they damaged it. They are very quick to pass the buck around the workforce. The sheer fact that we took in the vehicle for rear door damage - why would we have 1 door done but not the other? Clearly common-sense and stating the obvious doesn't exist in DingMaster.
Appearance is our upmost importance in our work and we know every inch of the vehicle and whenever scratches / dents appear we have them repaired. The damage they caused was completed but they wanted to charge us for the repairs that they made!. To add insult they even called to say that the vehicle badges would have to be replaced at extra cost to us.
When we went to collect the vehicle the second time there was a mark that looked like a scratch on the side loading door. An employee who was confrontational the first time buffed it out so all was ok. But clearly shows the lack of attention given. No customer care, no apologies. We paid the original bill for the original work, but refused to pay the second bill as the damage was caused by them. They have a responsibility of care which was clearly not undertaken.
I informed them that if they insisted that I pay the second bill, we would pay by credit card under protest and immediately performed a section 75 to claim the monies back.
CAUTION to anyone considering using DingMaster - take photos or video of every panel WHILST you are there or get a sheet detailing every mark on your vehicle just like a hire company. That way you'll avoid the "prove it" remarks. However other reviews online show a consistency of damaging vehicles and unsatisfied customers. I wish I saw the reviews before considering taking our vehicle there.
NEVER AGAIN will I recommend or return.”
