“I travelled to Dr Cinik Hair Hospital in November 2020. The service was first class from start to finish.
I was picked up promptly from the airport by a very friendly driver and taken to the hotel which was very nice (Hotel Renaissance).
The next morning I was picked up at the hotel and taken to the clinic. The clinic is very modern and the staff were very friendly and welcoming - they very kindly offered me breakfast as I had missed the breakfast at the hotel.
First of all I had some blood tests and i was then taken to meet Dr Cinik, who was a very friendly man who put me right at ease. We discussed my case and he outlined my transplant area.
After that I had some photographs taken and then my head was shaved.
I was then taken in to have the procedure which began with local anaesthetic applied to the back of my head which was a little painful but after it was applied I felt no pain throughout the procedure. I think 3 or 4 technicians worked at extracting and preparing the grafts. They were all very friendly and put me at ease - regularly checking if I was ok. Dr Cinik also came into the room a few times to check everything was going well and to check up on me. After the grafts were extracted I was provided with a nice lunch. After lunch the grafts were then transplanted to the transplant area. I felt no pain during this part of the procedure and actually fell asleep during it!
Transport was then provided back to the hotel and the next morning I was picked up and taken back to the clinic to have bandages removed and donor area cleaned. I was then taken straight to the airport for my flight back to Dublin.
Its now 3 months since my procedure and the clinic have been in regular contact asking for photos to monitor progress which I'm happy to say is coming along nicely and I'm looking forward to further progress.
