“I rented a car through easycar… I thought until I started receiving emails from goldcar. I deliberately paid for the highest level of insurance and would have got the key and go option but for the fact that I had to pick up baby seats for my two very small children on arrival at the desk, as such this wasn’t available. I won’t even go into how difficult it was to find the desk which was several kilometres and a tram ride away from the terminal where it should have been. On arriving and having to wait sometime to be seen (again with a baby and toddler very tired by this point) I was met at the counter by someone who told me I had to pay an additional set of fees for various deposits and extras. While some of these made sense, for example the fuel deposit, I was told that if I didn’t pay the next level of insurance, which was an additional €250, that I would have to pay a €1100 deposit and although that was refundable I would get charged 10% on that twice, once when taken and once again when refunded. Given my limited holiday spending money, I asked if I could cancel the booking entirely and was told no unless I wanted to lose the money that I had already paid. As such I was totally held to ransom with two small children unable to leave the office without paying the additional money. I feel utterly scammed and taken advantage of and feel easy car and gold car should be ashamed of taking advantage of someone in an unfamiliar country in this way. What a disgusting company And I would highly recommend avoiding them at all costs. I have emailed and called several times and of course they are not interested, so I will continue to campaign to warn others about their practice until they listen.”
“These guys are a scam do not book with them. Easycars use these guys as their parent company. booked a car then had to pick it up from another company called niza cars, got there and the car we booked wasn't available, they wanted us to pay more for another car which was more expensive and more than we paid for the original car, asked them to give us a cheaper car as the room was full of cars but they said they were all booked out conveniently! Asked for a refund at the office they said can't give it because I had to contact easy cars or car trawler but both are useless and don't want to refund at all. scam artists! car trawler when you read this I don't want to read about your apologies and how sorry you are as you do on all your messages if you were really sorry you would do something about it and solve this money you have stolen from us and won't return. please do not book with any of these dodgy car rental companies use a reputable company like europa car a little more expensive but no issues.”
“Please do not use this company. They ard a scam! Booked through them and our flight was cancelled. After re-arranging a new flight which was stressful enough. I tried to contact this company on my way home ftom the airport which was before the collect time! It took me 1 hour and. Half to get through to someone. Which they advised was now after the pick up time so I would have to pay again for car hire! They wouldn't amend my booking for 2 days later even thou I had paid in full!! Absolutely shocking when I even entered my flight details into the booking form. They took my money and I had nothing, I bet this has happened to a lot of people. Never again will I use this company!!”

Hice la reserva con el anuncio de que no se pagaría nada hasta recibir el coche en mano, y al día siguiente se hizo el cargo en mi tarjeta de la totalidad, intenté hablar con ellos y lo único que me dieron fue a una chica [Deborah] que copiaba y pegaba traducciones de google, y que me decía que si quería el dinero tardaría un mes en llegar [Cuando es simplemente un apunte en la tarjeta que deshacer] y que no era posible configurar la reserva para pagar en el momento de recibir el coche cuando en el anuncio ponía que sí.
Una completa falta de respeto, comprensión, empatía y educación. NUNCA UTILIZAR ESTE PORTAL DE RESERVAS”
“It's a scam. I made a reservation (RU518873040), which I then attempted to change. The web site returned an error. Tried every which way to contact them and change the reservation. Their support then refused to provide a refund, quoting their terms & conditions. It's a disgrace.”
“Booked a small car through easycar webpage and went to Gatwick Goldcar to collect. To my surprise I learnt that in the small print at the end of booking online you have to pay 1100.00 deposit when picking up the car. After refusing that. In the end got with insurance and I could have got a estate from Enterprise. Car was 38.00 for 4 days costed my 140.00. When I could have just gone to Enterprice and pay 86.00. Do Not Hire from these companies. Rip off!!!!!”

I booked, they tried to charge me 212 euros extra at the desk so I cancelled and they ripped me off 100 euros.

“When it works it works - when it doesn't they won't help you. The end hire company charged me baseless extra fees to compensate for a low headline rental fee. Easycar didn't car about this abuse of their platform and didn't help me. I was eventually repaid in full by the hire company - no thanks to Easycar . . .”
“The car, the price, the service etc was good. The only problem was the rip-off cross border charge I was forced to pay on collection - they said it was in their T & Cs so technically my own fault.”
