“Have not shot the rifle yet. The scope is mounted. quality appears excellent. I'm using this to shoot service rifle. Would it be possible to lower the center line of the rings any more. Service rifle shooter's are limited to a 4.5 power scope max. So large objective lenses aren't an issue. Just a thought. I'm using the Leupold scope sold by White Oak armament. Lower would give shooter's better check weld.”
“It fits great but still not perfect considering I purchased it for a safari arms enforcer 1911. The area that holds the plug in the slide to prevent it from going out the front of the slide needs to be .050 more in overall diameter to make it look like a stock part.”
“Seems to not fit so I ruined the first one. Bought a second one and that did not fit as well. So I guess I will take it to a gunsmith to see if it was me or the mount. Pretty sure it’s the mount. The sights drift on and off just fine. But these mounts binds up real bad”
Thank you so much Alvin for taking the time to share your feedback! We're sorry that you had to go through the difficulty of trying the first gun only to find that it did not fit. We understand that this is disappointing and we apologize for what happened. We manufacture these mounts to be a press in fit so they do not come loose while shooting. Due to manufacturing tolerances and differences from slide to slide we stick to the larger side of tolerances, that way our mounts will always be a tight fit. We would prefer it that way and have you remove a bit of material to get the mount to fit rather than having it fit too loose and then there is no way to mount the dot on your gun. We recommend having a gunsmith install our mounts due to this.
Im sorry to hear that you are not happy with the finish on your part. From time to time we will get parts with out the best finish on them, we try to catch them all and send them to get re-done but a few may slip through the cracks. Please contact us and let us know and we can find one that looks better.
“Now my Rock Island Tac Ultra has a red dot to play in Limited Optics in USPSA! The mount was a super tight fit, precisely machined, I had to file a very small amount of the coating on the bottom corners to fit my Novak cut but that is to be expected given different firearms manufacturer's tolerances and you want to remove the sight plate material not slide material in case I ever want to convert back to iron sights. I sighted in my dot easily as the mount is straight, level, and true.”
