It is the second time that I am using them and I'm afraid this time their service is very disappointing. It's impossible to get hold of anyone, no responses to their online tool and long waits on the phone. They were only quick to get the money for the searches, after that they all disappeared. It took them over a month to check some basic documents that I sent them (ID, bank statements) so I will find someone else to deal with the purchase of my property.

We have been trying for more than a month to complete on a mortgage. They had 8 pieces of identity for my wife ( so much for keeping youir identity safe) They wanted proof of the owner of the house we are buying, Our solicitor sent it off by special delivery , It was signed for. Then they lost it and blamed him. For security reasons we have to move. I studied law for 4 years, This company is so inept as being totally useless there bossses need to get a grip of this placr. Customer servive so poor that it beggars belief. We have moved for work 11 times before. This time Enact have left us graping at there lack of concern or help. Buyers beware!!!!

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I am currently in the process of trying to buy a new build with them acting on behalf of my solicitor as our lender didn't have my solicitor on their vender approval list. They refuse to speak to me, despite me paying their bills and I have no idea when they are likely to action our exchange due to a non existent communication process. We are now risking loosing our purchase because Enact did not get our exchange over the line and time and will not give me a deadline of when this will be. I never complain but I am at my wits ends as their complaints department is non existent and they refuse to speak to me or my solicitor. It feels very hopeless.

4 months in and I am still not at completion. It is a simple case of equity transfer. Unbelievably appalling service.

Enact had 3 months to process my remortgage. It was a simple case and run-of-the-mill. The sort of case they'd bank on for their day-to-day business. To start with everything was fine; then it got to the point where Enact would need to get my redemption statement from my current provider. They supposedly requested one but my provider could not find any such request. I requested several times for information and updates. Eventually with less than a week to go before the intended completion date, I check again and they finally make a request only for it to be incorrect (I don't know if this was the provider or Enact at fault). It took a couple more tries before they seemed to be able to move forward. All-in 6 days late. In short - if you expect Enact to be pro-active and chase for information - forget it. You'll be the one chasing. The staff seem de-motivated and that only reeks of bad management. They're more like a call-centre than a conveyancing firm. tl;dr - avoid if you can. If Halifax read this - how about switching to a different conveyancing company.

I didn’t even want to give Enact 1 star! Worst company I have ever dealt with. Constantly make promises they don’t keep and have cost me a lot of money. Staff are useless and lie. Staff are not sufficiently trained and this is shocking considering they are dealing with large amounts of money. Any slight complexity with a case and they can’t handle it. Do not use enact and if you are going through a bank who will pay solicitor fees get the name of the ‘solicitors’ they are using before you agree! You are better off paying for your own solicitor and getting a quality job done with a company you trust.
