“Completely incompetent - no efficiency or communication. Forced to work with them due to having a mortgage with Barclays. Sent me repeated spam emails with the same information, up to three times a day. Meanwhile requesting documents I have already sent over and over. I assume due to not having continuation in their email threads and therefore missing information. Sent emails saying “please see link” without including a link. Poor spelling and grammar, rude and just generally incredibly unhelpful. Have been tearing my hair out trying to communicate with this company. Avoid at all costs.”
“We missed our completion date, and no one told us this was going to happen. The reason for this was a document that wasn't sent from other lawyers - not your fault. But we were assured a week before the remortgage everything was moving along just fine and no complaints. There didn't seem like any sense of urgency to complete on the requested date. Customer services even told me to go chasing the other lawyers (do their job for them).
You also added lots of fees which weren't clearly explained. 90 pounds for a you didn't get back to us in time fee. "Fee for Complying with a Restriction" how are we meant to know there was a set date to respond to you by and that this meant we would incur this fee.
I would actively encourage people not to use your service. These complaints are not directed at the case worker - I believe they have set up a system to churn out remortgages without care and charge fees. This is how you make money. Please be better at communicating with clients that delays are happening. I should not have had to put in so much work to get this over the line.”
“As others have said - utterly useless! Enact are still in the process of arranging a simple remortgage and have been doing so for 5 months now. Terrible communication, tell me one thing, the mortgage broker something else, and the bank something completely different! Has cost me a fortune whist waiting on my current lenders standard variable rate and is still not resolved.”

“I am utterly disappointed with the service provided by Enact. From start to finish, the experience has been plagued by an almost complete lack of communication. Despite assurances and promises of prompt action, our very simple conveyancing issue has been unnecessarily delayed for weeks.
Even the solicitors from both sides have acknowledged that the matter should have been resolved long ago, yet Enact continues to stall without providing any valid explanation or updates. This incompetence and disregard for client timelines are unacceptable, and I would not recommend their services to anyone seeking a smooth and timely conveyance process.

“Have been waiting for them to complete for 2 months now. We have been waiting patiently for a long time. We was given a completion in Dec by our solicitor didn't happen. Again in January was given a completion date, didn't happen. After investigating it seems that Enact are working for a lender at the bottom of our chain and holding the whole process up. We originally accepted an offer on our house in August 24. 5 properties in the chain. We are still waiting for completion Feb 25 due to Enacts incompetence.”

“Very slow inexperienced staff. They use trainees for the bulk of the work who don't know what they are doing. You then have to wait in turn for a qualified person to sign off everything which slows down the whole conveyencing process.”
“AWFUL COMPANY. Slow, difficult and will ultimately cost you money. Forced to use as part of a remortgage with Santander with plenty of time before our existing mortgage ran out. Due to Enact using a third party search agent, the searches were not returned in time and so completion was dragged out costing us thousands in variable rate interest. Against our Solicitors advice, they also insisted on additional insurance policies be put in place against our property before the remortgage could happen, which they also added an over inflated administration charge onto. And then following a formal complaint, they just brushed it all off saying they were not at fault, without actually giving any evidence as to why they were not at fault. STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AS THEY JUST WILL COST YOU MORE MONEY”
“ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING EXPERIENCE. They have held our passports for over 1 month!!!!!! Been fobbed off on EVERY call, no call backs from 'superiors'. Nothing followed up or written down on notes properly. LUCKILY we screenshot everything for proof. From start to finish they messed up our mortgage from listing it to the WRONG department to sending over and over again paperwork to fill out.

“My solicitor needs to speak direct to Enact to confirm porting of mortgage but can't get through direct to a solicitor at ENACT and not replying to e mails and switchboard telephone system inept seems we are in a position no of our buyer pulling out of the sale due to lack of communication between Nationwide, ENACT and confirmation from Enact, three months have passed since mortgage port was agreed by Nationwide”
“They have caused our chain to wait on them for three weeks now... Everyone else is ready to exchange. They do not respond for days on end and when they do it’s with another (seemingly unnecessary) hoop to jump through. Agree with review that said to avoid st all costs.”

No one knows what they’re doing and can’t ever speak to anyone, just the help desk who will pass on a message.
