Enact conveyancing have been simply incompetent dealing with my re-mortgage. Badly trained staff sending incorrect information throughout the process and providing little communication (and poor communication when it does occur). I would stay clear in future!

My re-mortgage was delayed and nobody contacted me or dealt with it until I called them and asked if the completion is happening - only then they started to check and it occurred some things needed to be done to proceed. I needed to the the follow ups on that. It was the last day before the planned date of completion....I wrote that I ll be placing written complaint why nobody was contacting me before. Once I stated I ll raise the written complaint they started calling me several times and trying to push to deal with all via phone. It was not good experience to me. As I wrote the complaint they answered that they did all according to the process and acknowledged my complaint. They didn't refer in their answer to my questions: why they started to work on my case only after my call and why they were bothering me several times via phone to solve the complaint once I told clearly I want to raise written complaint. Overall- very unpleasant cooperation. My impression is they are overloaded with work and not capable to deliver good service. I have the feeling that I did a peace of work for them but they took the money that....this is poor service

If you have a bog standard remortgage then maybe it’s worth taking the risk with enact as that part of dealing with them was okay-ish. However if you are doing anything else porting a mortgage/ transfer of equity or god forbid purchasing a property with enact I would advise against it. I have had to liaise with land registry myself due to their negligence, turns out enact sent through an empty letter twice which meant I am still waiting to complete on another property, bear in mind at this point numerous phone calls had been made to enact who all along blamed land registry for the delay. Avoid if you can !

Avoid at all costs. Been waiting for over 2 weeks for a cheque to be sent which I’m owed from enact. I have called 7 times with limited customer service. Sales team have no queue on phone line yet remortgage do not answer which is telling.

Enact Conveyancing failed to notice the boundary plan on my house purchase was incorrect. Despite the property information form clearly stating the purchase included a garage and further parking they somehow made a monumental mistake and proceeded to complete without noticing. When I sold the property this issue came to light. They admitted their mistake and assured me I would be put back into the position I would have been had they not made this mistake. This transpired to not true, I am very much out of pocket. They advised an indemnity policy which both my buyers and my solicitor objected to instantly. I would add that I had a qualified conveyancing solicitor as did my buyer, not just a conveyancer as Enact were. It was insinuated it was my solicitors fault which I vehemently objected to. ** A conveyancer is cheaper for a reason. They are not conveyancing solicitors and are not regulated by the Law Society. Please choose wisely as many people do not know the difference until negligence arises ** I asked Enact to cover the deduction. They refused. I pleaded for help but it fell on deaf ears. I wasn’t able to complete on my onward purchase due to the loss in value of my sale property - this loss the direct consequence of Enact Conveyancing. In time I asked Enact for their insurance details so I could claim for just my losses and avoid legal costs. They wouldn’t provide them. I had no choice but to proceed with the use of a solicitor. Again I slipped up with who I chose initially but when I came across Robert Johnson of Healys, London my situation changed instantly. He dealt with my claim and, in my opinion, Enact were floundering and no match for Robert. Both Robert Johnson and his firm Healys were nothing short of brilliant. Whilst I won my claim I am most certainly not in the position I would have been had Enact not made this mistake. Far from it. I have learned a lot during the whole process and will never be put in this position again. Please learn from my experience and do not use Enact Conveyancing. If your lender insists then show them this review. I am liaising with all lenders that partner with Enact and have just shared my correspondence with them. I hope they choose more wisely who they partner with once they read my paperwork. It isn’t a matter of never making a mistake, no one is infallible. But it’s a case of how their mistake is handled. It is my opinion that Enact were unnecessarily callous and unco-operative towards me.

Disgusting, incompetent company. Been waiting for weeks to complete and they keep prolonging it and not releasing the funds. Surely they should be investigated for their incompetence.

The most disorganised and uncaring company I’ve ever had the displeasure of using. They let my remortgage go past the deadline even though the process was started over 3 months prior. I was only told about an issue after the deadline when it clearly could have been resolved before the deadline. This was the conveyancer that Nationwide use and I would suggest to them to cut all ties as they will loose them business. I would never use nationwide again for this reason. If it wasn’t going to cost me time and more money then I would have gone else after the deadline. I would strongly advise anyone to never use this company nor go with Nationwide for you mortgage for this reason. My case handler was Georgia Stansfield. But had to escalate to a manger to get the case pushed through.

Keep well clear. I had to ask if they are qualified because they clearly don’t know what they are doing. Pulled out of a house purchase so I didn’t have to continue with them. Shouldn’t be allowed to practice

I won’t go into to much detail yet but we are unfortunately using enact and the experience is beyond a joke documents sent to them have been sent to the wrong place and have to be done again it’s painful every step of the way all I can say is never ever again how they function is beyond me I just wish we went elsewhere people choose them because they are cheaper than most but as the saying goes you get what you pay for and god I know that now please think before using enact

I am just trying to port my mortgage over to a new home as I recently lost my husband and for urgent medical reasons need to be in another part of the country. I am only using Enact as Standard Iife has insisted upon it. I was not in a particularly excellent state of mental health in the first place. If has been one of the worse experiences of my life after the loss of my beloved husband. On Friday I sat here alone, after another day of no movement exchange or completion date with two unopened boxes of Sevredol morphine tablets, prepared to take the lot. I can not take any more of these people and Standard Life are little better. You can not contact either companies, emails go unanswered, documents get lost. My solicitor has increased my bill because of the extra work. It was a simple 3 property deal with no one else involved. There trouble before when I had to use them but I can only say they get worse. Why I am forces into this position by Standard Life who are 100% aware of the issues. Surely this should not be permitted, or one should be able to use a solicitor of my own choice. I still have no exchange date. The guilt I feel for the other two families knows no bounds. I am frightened that I can going to do something so drastic that moving house will no longer be an issue

Our buyers used enact and it was a very stressful experience , our solicitor was tearing his hair out as every Monday morning , a junior would get the file out , ask him a lot of questions , which he answered promptly , then the file went back , then the next Monday morning , the same happened , this went on for weeks and weeks , took 5 months to do a simple conveyancing for first time buyers , We’re just buying a flat and our sellers have chosen enact , we’ve told them that we’ll pull out of the sale if they use them , fortunately they’ve gone elsewhere , I couldn’t go through the stress and frustration of using the worst conveyancing firm on the planet , read the 1 star reviews , they all mimic our dreadful experience with them !! Avoid avoid avoid !!! This was 2017 and things are no better in 2023 !!

I am a broker and a sale is about to fall through due to the total incompetency and lack of knowledge of Enact. In the past they were hopeless and still are. Why lenders use them is beyond me The staff are clearly not experienced enough to deal with the complex nature of some transactions and refuse to accept standard indemnity due to their lack of knowledge.

I wish I could give zero stars. Back in May '22 I was contacted by my mortgage broker/advisor as my deal was due to end in September. We looked at a few options and Barclays came out as the most viable option. They appointment Enact conveyancers. Since August I have been given 4 case handlers- none of whom have spoken with me- the only communicate online. My remortgage was supposed to complete by 1st October. I am still waiting. Barclays released the funds, Enact returned them. Enact have closed the case yet Barclays are sending me paperwork confirming completion and payment schedules and the £250 incentive on completion has also been paid. It transpired before Christmas that Enact misinterpreted a letter from Barclays and incorrectly closed the case and admitted responsibility for the error. However, today Enact still say my case is closed and Barclays do not wish to complete. Meanwhile I am left struggling financially, on a standard rate mortgage which is almost double what it was before my previous 5 year deal ended, overdraft charges and the untold amount of stress I've endured in the whole debacle. I will be making a formal complaint once completion has taken place- apparently it will be this week. Not sure I have that much faith anymore anyway. Never want to deal with this conveyancer again.

I wish I could give zero stars! I've dealt with Enact previously and due to delays at their end and the fact I couldn't reach them on the phone to chase my re-mortgage was delayed costing me additional payments at the time. When I learnt they will be dealing with my current re-mortgage I was prepared for a similar issue. Enact are advising me at this late stage that my tenancy agreement will not be accepted as its rented out to a housing association who will sublet it. The Mortgage Works have confirmed with the broker that they are happy to proceed, yet Enact will not accept this advising its 'not in their agreement with The Mortgage Works' When I questioned this saying I'm your client and I've never had this issue with TMW in the past, I was advised their client is TMW and its not in their agreement so they can't proceed. I've got a couple of properties going through a re-mortgage and yet the other one has all been sorted with no issues under the same terms, so really can't understand why this is an issue with Enact. TMW keep advising they are happy but Enact won't proceed? Can't progress, and Enact won't even forward any email communications with TMW, which makes me even more suspicious that there isn't an issue in proceeding.

Dreadful experience from start to finish. Everything they do takes an age but yet they wanted everything done by me asap. They even had the audacity to ring me on a week day when I was at work to say if I don’t get a chaps payment to them by 15:30 then it would delay everything going through. What the hell was I supposed to do at half past one in the afternoon when I had to make this payment in branch. Absolute bafoons who should be allowed to practice.
