“It would be advisable for Equiderma to have an active Customer Service phone system. I’ve attempted several times to call and each time received a recorded message referring me to the website for messaging . Sometimes a customer requires a quick answer.”
Hello,
We completely understand and hope you know we strive to offer the best service that we can. Because our customers often have questions that involve in depth knowledge and familiarity with equine physiology, we have chosen not to hire a Customer Service phone answering system at this time. We are proud to stay a small, family run and USA based company and during the busier parts of the year we have all hands on deck working in-house to make products, pack and fulfill orders. Even when we are not in the office, we are able to monitor emails all throughout the day and give customers a return call quickly when needed. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us at info@equiderma.com and let us know how we can help!
“I've been purchasing for a few years. However. The top had been changed from a well made orange squirt top to a very poor black one. The quart bottle used to take you through the gallon. Now it can't even get you through the quart. Someone was ronny wise and found foolish. Return to the orange. The solution has to be able to actually and successfully reach the horse!”
Hi Tamara,
We are so sorry to hear about your experience! We recently switched the color of our spray nozzle but it is the same plastic mold as the orange. What has changed is that we are no longer able to source the same quart bottles, and the new bottles are taller, which means a longer spray straw, which in some circumstances can lead to clogging and a suction effect. If this occurs, you can soak the nozzle in hot water (or rubbing alcohol, but make sure to thoroughly rinse). If you send us an email at info@equiderma.com we are also happy to replace the nozzle for you. We are always on the hunt for better packaging and bottling solutions, better for the environment, better for the animal, and better for the customer making the purchase, so it is possible that will see the bottle change again in the furture. Since we use the products ourselves we completely understand the need for effective products that are also functional!
“I order the skin lotion, hoping that it will stop both of my horses from rubbing their manes and tails. It only keeps them from rubbing for a short time and it's expensive. So I have now added fly sheets with neck covers for my guys. I will still order the lotion as it does slow them down.”
Hi Cindy, thank you so much for your feedback! We value all of our customers' opinions, and we strive to always make our customers and their animals happy and give them the best experience possible. Mane and tail rubbing can be extremely frustrating, we completely understand! There are many different causes for this, and determining what the source of the issue is is critical for treating and preventing it. Our skin lotion is an antibacterial and antifungal, so if the issue is being triggered by insects as it most often is (sand midges can be almost impossible to detect and can wreak havoc), you may need to approach it from multiple angles. Our Neem Shampoo is the first step, a long soak before rinsing will get down under the skin, helping to force the midges out and discouraging them from coming back. It will also remove many of the irritants the insects leave behind, such as saliva, eggs and excrement. These all can trigger intense itching and allergic reactions in equines. The skin lotion will help to cleanse and soothe the area, but incorporating the Neem Shampoo and then daily use of the Herbal Horse Spray is the real 3-pronged approach to getting mane and tail itching under control in most cases. Another common cause are pinworms, and you may want to consult your vet about a dewormer.
