Expensive service for relatively slow data speeds, and seems far slower than I had anticipated. Reasonable reliability and so I have had very little direct interaction with company for fault finding etc. We do suffer from lost internet connections, which is the greatest frustration.

Communication is often awkward in the sales process and then the web-site is OK but it often seems that the information needed is not quite clear. Details of the downloads, how to get the download speeds as promised, poor installer, suggestion that because I finalised the installation that is the cause of problems.

Hi Paul, you bought a satellite broadband system from John Sidwell back in 2012. John Sidwell is one of our resellers. Sorry for the confusion. Kind Regards The Europasat Team

tl;dr: Europasat are OK, but there's definitely room for improvement. Works better for me than ADSL ever did, which is by far the biggest plus point. I did the dish installation myself. While do-able, it wasn't trivial. The not so good parts: * Although advertised as getting 10GB/month, Europasat actually partition that into 8GB download and 2GB upload. I think most people are very unlikely to use the vast majority of those 2GB of upload, so effectively I'm only getting 8GB per month. I would have preferred it if the limit applied to the total usage without there being a fixed partition into upload and download (or if **really** necessary, a customer configurable partition would be better). * My billing period doesn't seem correlated with the bandwidth accounting period, so I think for the first month I ended up paying for a whole month but only getting a part of a month. * They send you email alerts about broadband usage (good), but there's not much information ("how much did I use last month?" and being able to see a day-by-day bandwidth usage for the last month are really helpful in managing usage, in my experience).

Hi Allie. Thank you for taking time to respond to our survey. Satellite will be more expensive that standard ADSL broadband due to the amount of funding that has been ploughed into the new Technology. However, we are hoping that this will reduce as the option becomes more 'mainstream'. Can I ask that you contact our Technical Team on 01869 356166, option 2 the next time your modem needs to be reset and they can investigate this for you. Kind Regards The Europasat Team

Hi Andy. Thank you for taking time to respond to our survey. The speeds you are receiving could be due to the amount of people on the network at any given time as this is a shared network and for this reason, we cannot guarantee any kind of headline speeds. This is also why your speeds may be lower during the late afternoon till late at night simply due to the amount of people using the bandwidth. Please also be aware that the services is an up-to service which means the 20MB/s is not a guaranteed speed. This is stated in our terms and conditions which can be found at: https://www.europasat.com/support/about-us/terms-conditions/. If you have particular concerns, can we ask that you call our Technical Team when you are experiencing the particularly slow speeds and they can investigate for you. Kind Regards The Europasat team

On the plus side, a very useful service for us because we cannot get broadband down our telephone line. Connection speed very good. On the negative side, connection variable with down periods which can be irritating. Can be difficult to get sufficient continuity to download iPlayer without freezing even though we have not used up our allowance. Would find it difficult to recommend to friends and family because of intermittent signal. Sorry.

The data rate is very variable. At some periods it is slower than my BT ADSL landline. When the data rate is high it is very fast. The off-peak uncapped feature is well worth having, provided you have the stamina to stay up that late. Useage had two problems, sometimes my computer couldn't handle the fast data rate and voice conversations were hampered by the 2 second lag. Anyone with a poor connection of 2 Mbps or less would benefit from satellite data.

Europasat provide a good service. But two unfortunate developments over the past 8/9 months prevent me giving more than a "normal" rating. First, being locked out of one's own account and not being able to access it while overseas despite multiple messages in both directions. Second, I really dislike being charged for 2 months when I use the service for one month. To me, that is close to profiteering, even if it is stated in the terms and conditions. I'm sure it is not beyond the capability of Europasat to redesign charges so we pay only what we use, without Europasat's profits being affected.

Hi Maurice. Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. The two months' minimum connection is set by the satellite owner. The system is designed for constant connection and allowing 'holiday home connection' is something that we try and cater for. However, ensuring that there is a minimum of two months' connection allows the engineers to estimate up-coming data requirements. We are occasionally asked for weekly connection periods by our customers because they are only at their properties for that amount of time. You can understand that we need to have set rules to ensure that all customers have as fair access to broadband provision as is possible. Kind Regards The Europasat Team

When it is working it is an excellent system. Often however the speed drops dramatically making it almost unusable for me. As broadband is critical to my work I have had to install a BT back up connection, which although slower does always work. This does double my cost which means me paying another £300 a year, which is not satisfactory

The service is great, the biggest drawback is when you have used your alloted amount is traps you down to 1 or 2 bites per second.

Hi Michael. Thanks for taking the time to respond to our survey. We are pleased that you are mostly happy with the satellite system. The throttling of the service when you have exceeded your data allowance is part of our Fair Access Policy. This is detailed on our website. Kind Regards The Europasat Team

Not having the economic clout of the big Corporations like BT , Europasat can't stop the sudden pulling of signal to protect BT et al. So, although I have the now withdrawn 'unlimited' package, I frequently experience that glorious moment when the signal drops to almost zero.

This is a product you can rely on if you need internet in a remote location. With nowadays standards and expectations wanting tons of gigabytes per month for streaming and other on demand viewing or listening, the price of €10,00 / Gb above your monthly 'allowance' is quite hefty. But in some locations you have no other choice at all, when 3G nor 4G nor adsl or present and there Europsat has no real competition to fear. Probably this product will come under serious price pressure when at the end of 2015 your 3G/4G roaming internet will cost the same abroad in the EU as at home.

A superfast satellite broadband service is what is claimed by Europasat, the reality is that at best it is reasonable but very often the service is slow. Primarily because of the delay between satellite and dish, but also when the service is used at peak times such as school holidays. On the plus side I have never experienced any down time with this service. The reality is a poor internet service over the telephone line is better. So use this service if you can't get a telephone line to your property.

I have no idea what you are referring to. I have made no purchases from your company , other than paying the monthly rental, at vastly more cost than can be achieved in other countries, but that's my fault for living in a third world country, Spain.

There is hole in your system whereby our order for a site survey made by phone did not get passed through to be actioned by the necessary person. Further my first telephone enquiry was not followed up or passed to the correct person. My second call was dealt with excellently both by the young lady who answered my call and also by the person who arranges your site surveys.
