“With only 6 weeks notice...Far and Wild did a brilliant job planning our dream honeymoon; efficiently organising a 10-day trip to Kenya.
Having never been to Africa before, it did not disappoint, from safari in the Maasai Mara to relaxing in Shela, Lamu and finally at Manda Bay - all communication throughout the planning was clear and informative with questions answered promptly. They understood what were hoping for and curated the trip perfect for us.
From the moment we arrived in Nairobi, we felt relaxed knowing all logistics were in hand, leaving us to take it all in and enjoy. First, we stayed at Saruni Basecamp, a luxury camp overlooking the river Talek, recommended by F&W with excellent food, hospitality and a very knowledgeable safari guide.
Our transit to the coast was very easy, 2 short flights via Nairobi to be greeted by hotel representatives at both Kijani and Manda Bay, a short boat ride to both.
F&W provided all information of travel and timings via an app, which ensured we knew where to be and when. It also helpfully included a packing list and important contact information.
We are so grateful to Ottilie and Ben for an unforgettable and special honeymoon - we've fallen in love with Kenya and can't wait to go back. Thank you guys.”

“From my first phone call right through to a couple of weeks post holiday Ruth at Far & Wild has truly gone the extra mile to make our holiday in Kenya memorable. She responded quickly to my brief, came up with 3 options & we chose our ‘fly & flop’ holiday to the Almanara boutique hotel in Kenya. “I have just returned from the remote South Atlantic Ocean island of St Helena. It was a wonderful experience and comes highly recommended. St Helena has a unique climate and consequently a very diverse landscape. The island offers its visitors great walks and a chance to enjoy nature at its best. Visitors are warmly welcomed by the islanders.

“From the outset the team at Far & Wild ensured they really got to understand what we, as a family, were after from our holiday to Kenya & Zanzibar. They gave us fantastic advice and despite the fact we were booking relatively late in the day managed to secure us perfect options.
El Karama in Laikipia Kenya blew us away on every level. The game viewing was exceptional with the backdrop of stunning & varied landscape, the people so kind & knowledgeable and lodge beautiful with exquisite food. It was the perfect place to take children with plenty of activities between drives to suit all ages, especially the 4x4 driving on the airstrip! We also spent an unforgettable night fly camping.
Zanzibar was just the white sands down time we were after, we did not want a resort experience and Pongwe Beach delivered. Adding on half a day & night in Stone Town gave a bite size nugget of culture.
Our final safari stop at Saruni Wild gave a complimentary but different safari experience with game viewing in large numbers, sleeping with wildlife wandering past our incredible tents set on the edge of the wild open plains. It was all topped off with being lucky enough to watch the migration.
Lifelong memories made, ensuring our children left with a piece of Africa in their hearts. We will definitely be back for more Far & Wild Experiences.”

It really was everything we hoped for and more. We were so pleased that we chose Eco and conservancies, definitely something very important to us.
Accommodation was superb at Lewa House, hosts Jonty &Sarah were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so friendly and so knowledgeable, our guide Josephat was just wonderful, constantly making sure we saw everything and got great camera shots!
While Saruni Wild was just a dream! Listening to hyena, elephants and lions after dark in our fabulous tented accommodation. Again all the staff could not do enough for us, every need was attended to even sets of wellies available in our tent in case of rain!
It was lovely to have the opportunity to talk with Masai and Samburu staff who would talk about their cultures, their dress, and dance with them around the evening fire.
The two very different areas provided a wealth of different terrain, landscapes and animal sightings, along with time in Nairobi, we really feel we experienced Africa.

“Our trip to Botswana and Cape Town went very well except for some issues with Botswana Air before and during the start of the trip. Far and Wild sorted out the problems before the trip and we managed okay on the day! Beyond that, everything was superb. The lodges were all brilliant, the people lovely, the internal flights from Mack Air were like clockwork and our room in Cape Town was amazing. Last but not least the wildlife was fantastic.
