“Generaly very good. I have bought mant fish from them before. I have recently perchesed a siemeese fighter and afew weeks later I came back and purched 5 tetras and 2 platinum guppies. 2 days after the secobd perches 1 of my tetras is dead in the tank. I know it probally had nothing to do with them though and was probally the stress of the journy on the way home. Over all though a very good shop.”
“Ordered a plant that arrived in a horrendous condition. I do not understand how whoever was packing that order looked at it and thought it would be ok to send. Leaves are eaten, stems a snapped and the whole thing is half dead.”

Always rude and unhelpful,but the last episode takes the biscuit. Refused to exchange or refund a uvc bulb, unused as the model of filter has now changed and wouldn’t exchange it for the old size bulb. Refused to refund it either,and wouldn’t let me have it back so I could try and sell it online to try and recoup the £12.99 I have lost.

“Purchased BioOrb life 60 in late January 2021 after specifically being told by more than one staff member that it would be ok to keep my Corys in there. Fast forward 6 weeks and one have lost one, with another being trapped under the ceramic media and then chewed by tank mates because he can’t move! The filter is not adequate for the size of the tank. Pieces of food get stuck underneath the media and it’s impossible to remove without disturbing the media and then causing water issues. The opening at the top of the tank is so small it does not allow for adequate tank maintenance. Contacted customer service to inform them of this who tried to blame us stating it’s due to overfeeding (we have followed all instructions in relation to feeding our fish as were worried incase this was the cause of ammonia issues). Customer service were horrific and are not willing to offer an exchange or partial refund, despite us only owning the tank for just over a month and having brought these issues to their attention as soon as they arose. This tank is NOT fit for purpose and as per the consumer rights act I am legally entitled to a replacement, repair or refund. All of which they have chosen to IGNORE. Don’t believe all of the ‘valued customer’ rubbish on their website because it’s all false!!”

I have never been so embarrassed I went into the store with wife and kids to look at getting fish and rock and power head for my marine setup I chose some ocean rock and look at it under the blue light as it had a crystal effect on it to see what it look like to be told don't be stupid it contaminate our tank I wasn't even putting it in the water then told he was not serving me as my kids were with my wife and touching the water fountain display outside. Will never spend any money in this or any other Maidenhead head aquatics I will also make sure none of my family and friends will either. He was very helpful and has help me immensely with every aspect of maintaining a healthy tropical tank. The staff at this store are excellent and very willing to help. I have purchased fish and plants which are healthy. The fish are active and give a lot of pleasure. The plants don't last quite so long and not because they are unhealthy but they are nibbled by the fish. Not so easy to find ones they won't eat!”
“I purchased 3 Koi from the branch at Heighley Gate at a cost of £100. I have a pond with 2 large Koi who have been very well for over 5 years. Within 3 days one of the new Koi had died from parasite infection. The expert at Heighley Gate told me to bring in a sample of pond water which he tested. It was deemed perfect for Koi. He replaced the fish but a week later a second of the new fish died. The replacement fish is now dead too. I have treated my pond with bacteria and parasite treatments and just hope my 2 large Koi survive. This has been extremely distressing. Thanks Maidenhead Aquatics for the sick fish and the possible parasite infestation in my pond!”
“I have purchased an aquarium from the Gosforth branch of MA. The young lady who helped me was spot on and when the warehouse delayed my delivery, she called me to apologise and explain. Not ideal from the warehouse, but I cannot fault the customer service and attitude of the sales adviser in Gosforth. Hopefully everything else will go smoothly when the aquarium turns up!”
