“Fitzroy Travel is amazing. They were the first to respond to my inquiry for a safari in Tanzania and followed up with a phone call! Their interest in knowing exactly what I wanted culminated in the very best experience for me ! The camps and guides were wonderful and the game drives exceptional!! “After a chance meeting in a lodge in Ethiopia's Simien Mountains a few years ago, I have booked 3 safari holidays with Paul and Fitzroy. Each time he has gone above and beyond in terms of customer service, engagement and experty curated trips in Kenya, South Africa and Uganda. In the days of increasingly identik packaged safaris and the more recent rise of ai travel agents, Paul demostrates that real, on the ground, expert knowledge is invaluable. With overtourism increasingly prevelent in key locations everywhere, the best safari is no longer simply the most expensive or luxurious one, but the one that offers the most unique experiences as far away from the crowds as possible, which is something Fitzroy excels in delivering.”

“I wanted the trip of a lifetime in Kenya and Tanzania and Paul at Fitzroy Travel organised the entire thing in the most superb fashion! I had a bucket list of places I wanted to see but specifically Lamu, Tsavo and Watamu in Kenya and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti in Tanzania. Paul finessed all the timings perfectly so that I would get to see some of the Great Migration as well. My safari guide in Tanzania was truly amazing - very knowledgeable and also great fun! It was like being on holiday with a friend. The accommodation was top-notch - very comfortable and always incredibly welcoming. I loved every single minute of this trip.”

“Fitzroy was excellent - having never been to Kenya before, we really appreciated them sorting everything from point A to point B. The hotels and lodges they booked on our behalf were all incredible - each with their own unique character - and the hospitality could not have been better throughout. Amazing food, amazing guides, and the kindest people. I would highly recommend to anyone travelling to Kenya, particularly if it's your first time.”

“Our trip truly was a trip of a lifetime. From picking the perfect camps to attending to the smallest of details Paul and Fitzroy were incomparable in delivering an amazing experience. When life threw us curves (leaving an iPad in the heart of Mara North) Paul figured out how to retrieve it! When I unfortunately had to leave early for business, Paul figured out how to get me from the bush to Birmingham just in time! A trip like this can be a daunting endeavor for a first timer, but Fitzroy delivered an unforgettable experience for our entire family. I wish I could give six stars! Dan Meis, FAIA”

“Our trip to Rwanda and Tanzania was incredible because of the attention to detail that Paul with Fitzroy Travel put into the planning of it. From our ease of transportation getting around to our incredible accommodations, my expectations were surpassed each day. We were able to time the migration of the animals perfectly. “Put simply, we had the greatest trip as a family that we have ever had. Particular thanks to Paul at Fitzroy who arranged for us to have a three day remote trek with Maasai that was for all of us the highlight of a spectacular trip. We had to reschedule once and this was handled without issue, everything went as well as we could possibly have wished for.”

“If you're looking for personalized service from a very knowledgeable individual, who will attend to all of the details, then Fitzroy Travel is for you. With Fitzroy you're dealing with someone who's actually been to all of these places, and vetted them, and knows the people who operate the accommodations. Fitzroy does a lot more then brokering trips which is what many travel companies do. Fitzroy's owner, Paul, has set up 5 trips for me over the last 12 years. “The trip to Kenya was fantastic. Paul Calcutt was our agent and he put together our itinerary and it was fabulous. He was very thorough, informative, friendly and took the time to listen to our needs. The intinerary he did was very professionally done. “This was a top notch experience for us. Though we had familarity with the region, Fitzroy made everything smooth and we always felt taken care of. We were traveling with two other families and the kid ages ranged from 4 to 16. Fitzroy had solutions and ideas for how to make our trip work and they followed through perfectly at every point. They were attentive and warm all along the way. They really listened to us to try to tailor the trip to our needs and vision rather than steering us in directions that were more convenient for them. Whether it's your first time or 100th time to the area, you will be in good hands with Fitzroy.”

“I have been on 3 trips with Fitzroy Travel and specifically Paul Callicutt as agent and once as also along on the trip. All 3 trips have been as smooth as can be - Ethiopia, Zimbabwee and Kenya most recently. Paul has taken the time to ask about my companions and my priorities and then has Listened - and done an excellent job of implementing what we preferred as well as those special touches we did not even know we wanted..., This ranges from the level of the camp/lodge and it's service, to our primary interests - whether game viewing or history and culture or some combination there of... My sister taught history for many years and was dazzled by our guide at Victoria Falls and tales of Stanley and livisngston and later with an expert on cave art in the southern part of the country as well as excellent game viewing. With the pressures of air travel these days, it is a pleasiure to know once on ground at your destination you can stop worrying - the teams on the ground have always been there, always helpful and gotten us where we need to be when we needed to be there!! Like a trusted car mechanic, a travel pro you can trust is a GEM!!”

“My family and I had an incredible time on our safari in Kenya, thanks to Fitzroy's fantastic service from start to finish. We're glad Paul convinced us to get out of our collective comfort zone and arranged a three-night hike through the hills, guided by Maasai, which proved to be the highlight of our trip.
