If we take the full insurance policy on booking car hire online, do this cover everything from scuffs , scratches etc ?

I have already booked a hire car at Gatwick Airport for the 1 August 2018. In the past I have used my UK driving licence, however, as I am now a Spanish resident, I have a Spanish driving licence. Nothing has changed in my status but my Driving Licence number has changed from HAYDO553183LM9GN to X7140751X. Can you please let me know, how I get the check needed to be done for your information, prior to the car hire date?
