“We have just returned from Burnham on sea Haven holiday village only to feel disappointed. We were notified 1 week before that our check-in was 2.00 to 3.00 pm and made arrangements to suit only to discover the night before arrival that this had been changed to 5.00 to 6.00 pm which was extremely inconvenient. I spoke to the reception who told me that this was a system error and there was nothing I could do about it as I had not paid extra to book my check in.
We have stayed with Haven many times and found this caravan extremely basic for a bronze caravan. No cupboard doors or wardrobe doors, no bedside lights or comfort lighting in the living area. Only one bin in kitchen and none in other rooms. No toilet brush and only one toilet roll for two toilets. No cushions on the seats. Other than this it served a purpose.”

I visited with family and we had three caravans between us. All of the caravans were dirty and two had carpets that stank and were covered in animal urine stains.
My sister complained at the time and two members of staff visited. They told my sister that they could spray febreeze or put in a machine which would suck out the smell - no mention of cleaning or moving to a clean caravan. My caravan was Gold Standard, it was absolutely filthy and stank - the worst caravan I have ever stayed in. The carpet was so disgusting that I covered it with my dog blankets but had to leave the outside doors open whilst watching T.V. because of the smell. Haven central staff sent a generic corporate reply to my complaints - they made no comment about the photographs of the carpet. Absolutely appalling customer service.”
“Cancelled our booking for next weekend as the reviews for touring are shocking. The shower blocks got awful reviews and you have to be off the pitch by 10 on the day of departure (most other sites are 12). Can’t ask for a late departure until you arrive!! The staff were totally unreasonable and I couldn’t speak direct to the touring department. Asked for a voucher to use at some other time at another site. They don’t do that. No customer service whatsoever. Maybe they just look after people in statics as this is what appears to be the norm.”

Combe haven holiday park absolute disgrace… please be careful and aware our caravan was broken in too when I was in there thankfully without out our children in there .
The person stole our 12 week old puppy .
Police were called and holiday markers were helpful I must say ( helping looking round the park )
BUT COMBE HAVEN were not helpful at all : didn’t even come to the van until nearly 2 hours after it was reported.
Regarding refund and support there was none even tho we left 2 and a half days early .
Because of the distress and feeling unsafe in the van we didn’t wish to stay any longer
We were told this was our choice to leave and that means no refund . No offer to move to a van that was close to security ( not that we would have ) and we were told we should have locked the door to the van even tho I was inside .
So this means they have no responsibility to what happened. They even kept implying my puppy had got out the door on its own
Even tho she could jump up to the handle being so small and her lead had been taken
BUT MOST SHOCKINGLY OF ALL NO SORRY OR COMPASSION TO WHAT HAS HAPPENED.
They had no empathy about the situation and asked we not distress other holiday markers by divulging what had happened.
A refund will not bring our puppy home or make our children less sad about the situation but the gesture and goodwill of the holiday park would have been appreciated. I’m writing to havens head office as I don’t believe Combe haven have dealt with the matter correctly. I also believe everyone should be aware of what has happened here and be cautious when taking pets or even being in your vans alone . Worst caravan experience ever I’m now considering never staying in one again as I’m frightened to what might of happened if I had come out of the bedroom whilst the intruder was in there ….”
“Arrived got loads bites to find every room riddled with bed bugs only offered a move to dif caravan no offer to clean our belongings so bed bugs moved to our new caravan at primrose valley very disappointed”

I am absolutely disgusted at Haven…
I am absolutely disgusted at Haven Holidays and will never ever book with them again and urge all families to do the same. I had booked a trip for me and my family to Blackpool - split trip caravan for 3 nights then a private house for 4 nights - for myself and husband and 4 kids. As you can imagine this was not a cheap trip to put together however we saved hard to take the kids somewhere we knew they would be entertained as they are a range of ages. My husband unfortunately took a bad turn healthwise the day before we were due to go - a brain scan discovered a tumour. I contacted haven to ask for them to change the dates of my holiday due to this and I got told no they couldn’t what I was to do was wait for discharge papers then they will give me half back !!!!! I offered to pay admin fees anything to keep our money to put into another trip but the consultant wasn’t fussed to help at all palming me off. My kids are absolutely devastated to say the least and I do not have the money to rebook another caravan. Desperately I tried to them recoup some of my families money by posting the holiday for sale at a reduced price on my social media to which I got a phone call from Haven within the hour telling me I was breaking the law by doing this and they would not be letting anyone take over my booking. Absolutely disgusting service not a shred of sympathy or empathy from them - they have our money and can have easily allowed us to swap the dates to a later date. Air b and b instantly changed our other accommodation and offered sympathy for our families situation thankfully but now we will not be able to afford to rebook another caravan. We have stayed at Haven many times before but it has become clear they are simply money grabbers - I myself work for a large Scottish independent travel agent and I will not be selling this “family” holiday company ever again in my store. Causing distress and upset to a family in a situation of emergency health is diplorable”

Be warned people absolutely disgusting…they don’t care about people just how much they can rinse people for
Be warned people absolutely disgusting despite warning them 3 months prior to my booking which was paid in full rhar I would not be able to go due to my mother been diagnosed with u treatable terminal cancer as I hadn’t checked the box or accidentally unchecked it they would not refun any money
Ok so my mistake however absolite robbery I could understand if I rang last minute
But to ring 3 months in advance wirh exceptional circumstances such as this on a holiday paid in full then any decent caring company would refund!!
The money this company makes is absolutely disgusting
Instead they offered a credit for half the value of the money paid and has to be used by end of this year
I wouldn’t Care but 3 months notice they probably re rented the caravan easily so got 2 payments… soooo angry with them tbh

Making money of people going thro emotionally crippling times and anyone whose experienced such a diagnosis knows that expenses shoot up with extra medical appointment time away from work to attend escort support effects income etc etc etc so a refund would have helped tremendously and other company especially one as large as haven would see that and under such circumstances make allowances especially with such notice apparently had I notified them a few days earlier they might have been able to do more!!! Absolute insult to injury

“On a recent badly needed 4 night break our holiday was ruined by intruders in our caravan who work for hoseasons. They went through our caravan messing about with the television, they turned our gas off outside, they put both toilet seats down and put a full toilet roll from the kitchen on top of the seat, they interfered with the water and left us with no hot water and water trickling, they brought mud and leaves off the filthy verandah onto our carpets.. The plumber who sorted out the gas and water was gob smacked when I shown him what we came back to, he said they had been messing around and they even unplugged the television... This was at Marton mere and was reported straight away to management who kept promising call backs which didn't happen, she tried denying it was their staff, but other staff there told us the team had master keys... I'm disgusted about Haven allowing tricks like this against a disabled carer getting a badly needed breakaway... There was other problems too, the 1st woman we spoke to was confrontational, when I spoke to her colleague she was lovely.... I was promised calls from higher management but that never happened either.”
“This facility does not have a 24 hour Buffet service so you are forced to order room service which was told will be one and a half to two hours at one in the morning. I’m sure they’re very busy but you do not come first. Very disappointing.”
