I am writing to bring to your attention an experience I had with your customer service team and Manager Louise. I encountered some challenges while inquiring about my pre-booked MOT and Interim Service this morning.
Firstly, I contacted the In and Out office to confirm my booking as the payment had been made from my bank account. Unfortunately, I did not receive an email confirmation with the booking details due to an error with the email address on the system.
Secondly, when I was asked about the branch for my appointment, I mentioned that I was unsure but remembered it being the one closest to Windsor. Start with B... The representative I spoke with did not attempt to assist me in finding the nearest branch to Windsor. I had called specifically because I had not received an email confirmation after 6 hours and needed assistance.
The representative and the Customer Service Manager, Louise, did not seem to address my concerns fully and appeared visibly perturbed and annoyed. I had expected a higher level of customer service given that I had paid for a service. Unfortunately, this experience was time-consuming and left me feeling somewhat intimidated during our phone conversation.
I was disappointed with the level of service received and would rate the customer service manager's approach as 0 stars. As she works in customer service, I believe it is essential for her to understand customer satisfaction and how it influences the overall experience.
Finally, due to the unsatisfactory customer service experience, I cancelled my appointment with In n Out. I sincerely hope that in the future, the management team will take proactive measures to address negative feedback and ensure that customers feel valued and respected.
I believe it is crucial for customer satisfaction and retention. Also, please note that time is money.
Hopefully, Mr @Jon Morgan will take some action.

“Extremely Disappointing Experience at In-n-out AutoCentres Kettering
I am compelled to share my recent, highly unsatisfactory experience at your In-n-out AutoCentres branch in Kettering. My visit on December 28, 2023, for a 4-wheel alignment for my Kia Sportage turned out to be a complete disappointment, and I feel it is crucial to make potential customers aware of the issues I encountered.
Initially, I was told that the alignment would take around an hour, but I was called back after only 30 minutes, claiming the work was finished. Shockingly, upon inspecting my vehicle, It was clear that the apparent rear camber problem had not been resolved. I began to question whether any work had been done on my car at all.
Upon seeking clarification from the manager, I was shocked when he confidently assured me that both front and rear wheels were aligned. However, I request him to inspect the vehicle himself to verify the alignment, which the manager carelessly delegated to an operative.
A prolonged discussion took place with the Manager and the operative and it was revealed that the rear alignment had been entirely overlooked. The manager, while apologizing for the mistake, offered to rebook the appointment. Due to my dwindling confidence in the garage's competence, I reluctantly paid £50 for the front alignment and left.
To make matters worse, upon driving home, I noticed that the steering wheel remained off-centre. In an attempt to rectify the situation, I sought a 4-wheel alignment from Kwik Fit, which uncovered that the front alignment either had not been done or was executed incorrectly. The technician at Kwik Fit expressed surprise at the lack of a printout from In-n-out Auto's.
Equipped with this damning information, I returned to your Kettering branch on January 2, 2024, and presented the Kwik Fit alignment report to the manager. Regrettably, he could not explain the discrepancies in wheel aliment and blamed printer issues during my initial visit for not giving me proof of work carried out. Despite my immediate request for a printout for proof that a wheel aliment had taken place, he cited ongoing printer problems as an excuse.
This entire experience has left me questioning the integrity of your establishment. The lack of attention to detail, failure to provide a printout, and the inability to produce proof of work are all red flags. I am yet to receive a full refund. If I not possessed some knowledge of auto maintenance, I might have unwittingly paid in full.
I sincerely hope that my ordeal is not indicative of common practices within your centres. It is my expectation that you address these concerns promptly to salvage the reputation of your services.”
“Warning, cheater! For the first time in my life, I encountered a dishonest MOT representative. he entered the documentation into made-up faults, all wheels needed replacing, moving mirrors, bad brakes. it's all a lie. I went immediately to another MOT centre and they wondered what the purpose of this scam was.

“Don’t trust them, they’ll lie about doing work. I took my car for a FULL service last Saturday. Dropped it off and got a text saying it was ready to collect 30 minutes later. I asked for paperwork of the service and was told it would be emailed to me. Got in my car and my service light was still on the dashboard. I called them when I got home and they offered to switch the light off on Monday. I don’t know much about cars but had a feeling that a full service shouldn’t take 30 minutes and that they’d likely taken more than £200 from me and not serviced my car at all. I waited the 48 hours to see if I would get the service paperwork.. nothing arrived in my inbox. The workers there clearly wanted an early finish on a Saturday and sent me away with an unserviced car, probably assuming I wouldn’t know any different! I wonder how many other people this must happen to as they were so nonchalant about it when picking my car up!
I’ve since called their complaints line and was told it’s been escalated to the area manager and it’s apparently now under investigation and I was told that I’ll have a call back within 48 hours. The person on the phone of the complaints line informed me that a full service would not have been possible in 30 minutes. It’s been over 48 hours and I still haven’t had a call back regarding my complaint. Avoid this garage at all costs. If you actually want the service you’ve paid for, don’t use these guys, they’ll rob your money and do absolutely nothing for it.”
“Well I've been bringing my cars here to Nottingham In n Out for 10+ years & have not experienced this before. Took my sons Clio in for a new back box. £250, bit steep but initially all seemed ok. However literally a few weeks & around 5 miles of use later it virtually falls off. It was attached by PLASTIC ZIP TIES!!! I called & was told #1 this can't be the case and #2 you need to bring it back to us as we can't collect it. At this point I sent them 10+ photos showing this very clearly. So after taking personal time off work & slowly following my son to the garage in case the new exhaust fell off, we returned it. All I got were a load of excuses about the parts etc. I don't care about this. I paid for a car repair. 8 hours later I was told it was ready to collect - so more missed work time for me. I was given a load of more reasons why it was 'hard' to properly fix originally, and FINALLY a very begrudging acknowledgement that this isn't the normal level of standard & that they would "deal with this internally". BUT no apology, no refund, no normal level of customer service that you might expect. It was almost as though they wanted me to thank THEM for fixing their original bodge job. So beware of this garage / service centre. I have used it for years previously but they have lost a customer. Don't make my mistake. I will be raising this with their head office (who probably won't care) and trading standards (who hopefully will).”
“I cannot speak on behalf of all of the garages however avoid the one in Kettering! My car was booked in and it took them 10 days to fit the tyres it needed. When they phoned me to collect the car, I couldn’t on that day (as I was working in a different city) they tried to charge me for storage of the car! It was only suppose to take a day! 10 days to fit tyres and they’re trying to charge me for not collecting at their call?! Unfortunately, my car is a lease plan car and they book with this particular garage (because I never would!). I rang my mum in a panic to collect the car as they were going to charge me £100. My mum drove to the garage and they would not release the car to my mum - only me! They knew that I couldn’t get there.
Today, I had an appointment at 8.30am. I arrived at the garage at 8.45am (which is evidently late - but traffic on the A14 held me back) and they cancelled my appointment and refused to do the MOT. Not even an alternative time was offered, 4 day wait at the earliest. The staff were lovely and so helpful, but Dave (who I believe is in charge) is so rude, expressionless and unprofessional. It is such a cold and intimidating environment and I HATE walking in there as a woman in my 20’s”
