“The report is valuable because it concentrates on facts rather than opinions. The interviews with CEOs give good insight into investment opportunities because Alan Kohler concentrates on uncovering the facts relating to the particular businesses and their business environment. This allows one to make up one's own mind about future prospects for the business in question.”

“I have been a member since the early 2000's. I am now retired and manage all investment decisions for our smsf. I bought my first share (Fairymead Sugar) around 1970. After raising a family, I re-entered the fray in 1998. I had a bad experience with a well known financial advice firm and vowed then to go my own way. After discovering you (I won a 3 month free sub in a competition) I have not looked back. I feel I have grown with you over the years. I value your advice as it narrows down the investable field of stocks. I have confidence that any recommendation you make has been well thought through by people with much greater skill than myself. My value add is portfolio construction (and I am still learning). I know you get some things wrong (still regret selling COH around $80 from memory) but the winners far outweigh those and I never lose sleep over them. I also value your calmness in crisis times; the GFC and COVID. My portfolio has benefited from the opportunities you brought to my attention. Our portfolio is comfortably beating the benchmark I use to compare performance with other super funds. So, thanks once again. There is no other service out there like II. You have enabled my wife and I to grow our retirement savings to the point where in retirement, we can live the lifestyle that suits us. An added bonus is that I love what I do; it keeps me sharp.”

“I appreciate the no hard sell and not getting flooded with emails. The reports and interviews allow you to determine the true value and potential of companies without trying to understand the company reports that can be difficult to understand or raise the question if the company is just blowing wind up your know what.”

“Whilst generally happy with the service and the depth of investigation on offer I have a small criticism. It seems the pressure to say something following company results announcements is getting in the way of deeper more considered analysis. I for one am content to wait for higher quality analysis rather than following the herd that drive short term share price reactions after results. I realise I am probably in the minority with this. I approve of the shift in focus that has occurred since NB took over as director. Looking beyond the larger blue chips is i believe a good (although potentially more risky) strategy. This differentiates II's offering and provides the opportunity to beat the market. I appreciate this courage on your behalf as this strategy also opens you up to underperform the market-something not many fundies or advisors are willing to risk.”
