Took the ISO 42001 AIMS Lead Auditor course in Jan 2026 and I felt that the training did not deliver much more value beyond reading the standard myself as I hoped to gain insights in real world situations. For the following reasons I feel I can’t recommend this course: 1. The content also contained typographical errors and looked to have been put together quickly. 2. Seemed to be targeted to internal Alcumus audience rather than external auditors and consultants like myself. 3. The course just seemed to be a series of exercises and didn’t deliver any training. 4. Time given for the exam was too short. I was given twenty minutes less than the BCMS Lead Auditor course that I took a couple of years ago. 5. To date, I have received no feedback on course either course work or exam results. Overall, I feel it delivered poor value. This has been the third course I have taken with Alcumus and I am likely not to do this again. I realise this is a new standard and likely to be teething problems but expected more when compared to previous training which was of a high standard.

I really struggled with this course and this was in the main due to the course taking part on MS Teams. I was unable to view the slides as they were presented by the trainer throughout the course so had to guess which slide the trainer was talking about, refering to the slides handout. I felt the course lacked much teaching and was more based around a system of "try this task and come back in thirty minutes" without fully understanding what the task required. There was lots of confusion throughout. Some slides were incorrect and needed to be removed for future courses - this refers to an audit timeline or something similar. I would not recommend anyone does this course on Teams as it presented a limiting opportunity to engage and ask questions, when compared to face to face learning in a classroom

I utilised ISOQAR to undertake my CQI IRCA ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor course. From the very start of the process, ISOQAR were brilliant. They communicated clearly on the requirements of the course, what the outcome was, the details of the training and more. When I attended the course itself, all of the staff members were friendly, helpful and a joy to speak with. The training facilities were great as well, being clean, well-supplied, easy to find and parking plentiful.

The course was good i liked the fallout rooms although they went too quick and i felt the content of our answers could have been better, all in all the course was worthwhile and the trainer held a good subject knowledge

I was recommended ISOQAR from a friend. The whole experience was excellent, from initial contact to booking the course, to the course itself and the trainer. Highly recommned ISOQAR

While the tutors were absolutely fantastic: very knowledgable, approachable and great at initiating the break out groups etc, I found that some of the course materials and the formast of the exam were lacking. The slide deck contained references to a standard that we were not covering in our course (was clearly a typo/accidental inclusion), and additionally, there was a relaince on the candidates having access to and knowledge of a further two standards that was not mentioned in any of the course details when booking. This led to quite a lot of anxiety regarding the exam as I'd have no chance to read through the two additional standards to either familiarise myself with their content or to ensure I understood how they complement the standard we were focusing on. More generally I felt that the whole course was assuming that not only that the candidates would be working as external auditors, but that they would be employed by a certifying body - which amplified the issue of the additional standards not being provided or referenced as they were specifically relevant to external/certifying body auditing. As an experienced internal auditor working with multiple standards in the education sector, I found this quite jarring but again, had this been made clear prior to the course being undertaken, additional research could have been conducted to prepare me for the change in perspective. Additionally, I felt that there were some shortcomings with the format of the practice exam and real exam. The test exam did not draw from a bank of generic questions which meant that you were given the same 40 practice questions each time you practices and this increased the chances of memorising the answers and creating a false sense of preparedness for the real test. Both the practice and real assessment included questions on the additional standards that I felt were impossible to answer without access to and understanding of those standard as some of the responses required you to know the definition of specific terms or responsibilities which were not covered in the course slides. I also felt that the format of the test was somewhat clunky. As an online, remote proctored test I was expecting there to be screen recording, however, as an open book exam which did not allow you to go back to previous questions and with a short time allowance, I felt that it was a bit disproportionate. Being able to answer questions you are confident in your response and allowing candidates to go back to more challenging questions would not compromise security/the integrity of the assessment as it is open book and screen recording/monitoring is in place meaning that candidates would not be able to confer with one another/online - and if they attempted it, it would be easy to identify. If there was no option to allow navigation across questions, then it would have been helpful to have a bit more time as it worked out to be approximately 2.5 mins per question but some questions required candidates to read a significant portion of text which may introduce barriers to candidates with certain conditions, or those who read at a moderate to slower pace, or even those who are nervous and would need to read the text more than once to ensure they fully understand the queston - especially given as they cannot go back to it later on. A final point on the exam format is that while each candidate will see a unique batch of questions pulled from a large item bank, your results are not released until each person has completed the exam, or that the deadline for completing the exam has passed. This means you may be waiting for approximately 6 weeks post course end date if someone in your group decides not to take the exam until the final day. Considering the use of an item bank, online proctoring and that the exam is open book anyway - it seems a bit extreme to consider that canddiates would be able to assist one another to complete the exam as they would each see different questions, and would not be able to provide help within the short time provided to respond to the questions. The tutors we had were really engaging and clearly very experienced with the main standard - they were able to steer the group to the key points where we drifted, and ensured that everyone contributed to the sessions which is no small feat! Time management was spot on - we didn't miss anything and were able to start and fininsh on time which is incredibly helpful when you have other considerations outside of normal working hours. At no point did we feel rushed or that we couldn't ask questions which again is very reassuring when you are embarking on a certificated programme.

it wasnt as good as i thought it would be. i should be learning something, i felt like i couldve taught myself that. i was taught half of it through my manager and myself, especially when it came to the quality managment manual it was just a skim read of it. Auditing wasnt covered at all in my opinion. id rather go into an actual audit room and shadow someone.

Overall good, normally we get to schedule our audit for the next year at the audit carried out previously not allowed this year, and told to expect an email up to two weeks before with a date and an auditor, as this process is to add value to the company this new system seems a little odd. Training course attended, expensive for the information and course provided. Paid for an ISOQAR course as assumed it would be comprehensive and value for money, but course content seemed to be stringed out over one day when not enough content, and not sure much value really gained, review left seperately for this service. Will say the finance department is always quick to respond and very helpful. Our auditor for the last three years has been friendly and adds value and provides a good incite into the business, which is appreciated.
