JG Pest Control have some of the worst customer service skills I have had the misfortune to encounter - let alone the fact that my rodent infestation remains ever-present following their guarantee of three visits to exterminate the problem. Having contacted them to book in assistance to eradicate squirrels living in my ceiling space, a technician - Nicholas - was booked to come round a few days after my call. They do not give you a time of arrival, and so I had to wait all day for the knock on the door. I was given an “on my way” message with the suggestion he’d be 15 minutes, but it took him almost an hour. From the moment he stepped in, I felt he wasn’t well-prepared - he didn’t have much of a briefing on the job, nor did he sound confident in what he was doing. He surveyed my loft, my kitchen underneath the kickboards and around the boiler, as well as surveying the external surrounding of my flat roof which is where the problem was. After a lot of umming and ahhing, Nicholas had no answers - he couldn’t tell me how they got in. He also told me he couldn’t instal any traps because they would have to be external - he was later then corrected by the office, and he set a trap in the guttering. Maybe a week later, a squirrel was caught - was this the squirrel coming and going, or simply just an innocent victim? Who knows, because any squirrel could’ve taken the bait. In any case, I booked in for the removal of the squirrel - I had to wait a few days for these and even Nicholas was surprised that they made me wait. He removed the squirrel, and reset the trap. He still couldn’t tell me how the squirrel got in. We heard nothing for a little while but then the noises continued and the trap went undisturbed for weeks. After some investigating of my own, I immediately identified a possible entry point of the squirrel - a broken air vent just centimetres below the trap that Nicholas had thrice interacted with, and yet did not identify. Looking through the vent, I could clearly see the open ceiling space with insulation perfect for a squirrel home. I emailed in and asked for this to be addressed, and was directed to Adam Fairley who was CC’d in. I emailed him directly also, and heard nothing. I waited a day, called the office and asked for help - they told me they’d checked with Adam and that he was just doing something and would get back to me. The next afternoon rolls around, still no call. I called to complain and was met with an incredibly rude lady who told me that I would simply have to wait, or I could email Adam - not realising I’d already done so. I finally received a call from Adam, and he booked someone in come the next day. Geoff Maughan came the next day, took away our trap and sealed the vent by stapling a piece of mesh over the hole. He told me that he could not see any other way the squirrel would be getting in. This was a Saturday, and by the Monday - lo and behold - the noises returned, and the prodding remains intact. I have attempted to seek reimbursement from JG Pest Control, for at least a partial refund, after I had spent £330 on three ineffective, half-completed, incompetent visits. Alas, they refuse to budge and instead I was met with snarky, smarmy comments from their manager Leigh Fowler. Leigh claimed that the one squirrel was caught, and that the continuation of noise counted as a “reinfestation” not covered by their guarantee - he also claimed we were provided “proofing” (a small piece of cheap mesh stapled into my PVC) at no further cost as a “gesture of goodwill”. For £330 and an ongoing squirrel problem, I would expect a piece of cheap metal to be included in that price. I argue that this reinfestation is fiction, and that this was an ongoing problem that his technicians had failed on multiple occasions to nullify - or in fact even identify the cause! Not only has my problem not been solved in the slightest, I was treated with contempt and a complete lack of understanding. They have refused to accept any responsibility for a job half complete, and simply misrepresented facts during an auditable email chain that proved their misrepresentations to be exactly that. I will be pursuing action under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015, and I would implore those who experience anything similar to do the same.

On the 5th of April we called to book a bedbugs inspection with JG Pest Control. This has been booked for the 6th of April. We paid £180 for this report. The inspector came and he identified bed bugs. He advised that if we continue with a treatment with your company the £180 will be deducted of the final bill. He said that someone will be able to give us the treatment solution and quotes once the report is reviewed. We called on Tuesday to ask for advice on the next steps. We agreed with the gentleman on the phone to book a heat treatment on the 11th of April. The cost for the treatment was quoted at £1000 + vat = £1200 and as I understand the £180 was deducted so the full cost should've been £1380? On the 10th of April I've been asked for pictures of the property ahead to the treatment. I sent the link of the property which contains pictures of the full property and a floor plan. Emails attached. Nobody came back to us to say that the treatment cannot go ahead because of the layout. If this was known to be an issue I would've expected to be informed before the appointment. On the 11th of April, the specialist for the heat treatment came to the property and said that the treatment can't go ahead because of the stairs to the loft and the central heating being in the 2nd bedroom (he mentioned that this might not be an issue as the central heating is not close to the door and it's in a cupboard). He advised that a report would be sent to the office to get authorisation. The decision was NO for the heat treatment, however a chemical treatment could be completed. I called the office to understand what is happening and I've been advised that the heat treatment cannot take place because of the stairs in the loft, the central heating in the cupboard in the 2nd bedroom and the living room being open space with the kitchen. I must mention the house have no open space kitchen and living room. I agreed for the chemical treatment to go ahead, however at the price of this type of treatment and not £780 (£180 inspection price and £600 deposit for the heat treatment). I was at work and I couldn't talk very long so my wife, called the office at 9:16am to ask for the new price on the chemical treatment. The person she talked with, I believe this was George, was very rude to my wife and treated her with no respect. My wife explained to George that we don't mind the new treatment as long as this is at the correct price. George refused to give to my wife the price for the chemical treatment and refused to refund us the difference between the treatments. She asked George several times for cost information, however the price was not provided as she was not a customer as per his statement. He made a comment that he knows what my wife is trying to do by asking for the price and he reufused to provide this. George hung up on my wife while she was talking. The prices should be transparent and not made up. By refusing to provide a price we can understand that this was overpriced. A manager contacted us after we complained and refunded us just £180 as he said that the price was £600 same figure we paid for the deposit. We are still facing bedbugs problems. Stay away of this company as they are very unprofessional and rude! They just want to take your money without providing the services!!!

Very chatty, friendly and enthusiastic person. Always spoke with a smile. We were reassured he seemed to have an in-depth knowledge of his subject and that he enjoyed his job. We had a very small wasp nest and he removed it without difficulty.

We had bees which entered through airbricks into the wall cavity. Sorry to kill bees but allergic to stings and concerns about damage to the building. It was quickly dealt with and they answered all my questions about preventing future infestations.

Job Ref: TC372385 Had a problem with pigeons nesting underneath my solar panels. JG Pest Control website looked as if they knew what they were doing, so phoned them up and spoke to Tom to discuss my options. A couple of photos sent through to him and he quickly came back with a detailed quote which looked reasonable. Work was booked in for the day after next. On the day, Stephen and Jay arrived on time, explained what they were going to do and then worked proficiently together. The nest was removed and bird proof mesh fitted around my panels to prevent a re-occurrence. Stephen and Jay were polite and courteous throughout, performed work to a high standard and cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. They were also very knowledgeable on the subject. Highly recommended

Had a sudden infestation of wasps in my bathroom and it was dealt with quickly and on the same day. Totally recommend them, from the person I initially spoke to on the phone, to the pest control who came out and treated the problem.

The change of treatment from removal to extermination at short notice was very unfortunate but could not be cancelled due to other commitments. The extermination as such seems to have been well conducted
