“The sizing of the sweater I purchased is poor, at best. I'm an XL in 90% of the tops I buy, but decided to buy an XXL from Watson and Jones. The sweater is so small it fits more like a tee-shirt.
To make the experience of buying from Watson and Jones even worse I am required to pay the $30+ shipping fee, back to China. The following is from their website, "All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, regardless of the reason for return. This includes cases where the product is defective, damaged, or incorrect. Please note that international return costs to our warehouse in China typically start from $30+."”
“After years of shopping on line without any issues… I fell for this FAKE AD! Please don’t waste your time and money. Review other review (I wish I did more digging-in before ordering).
This seller is intentionally misleading. They claim to be a large New York retail store “going out of business,” but no such retail store exists. The website appears to be a generic template designed to create false legitimacy.
The product received was extremely poor quality and looked nothing like the advertised images. Sizing was wildly inaccurate and made the item completely unwearable.
This is a bait-and-switch operation selling low-grade goods under false pretenses.”
“The website says 30 day exchange or return. Not so. The item gave measurements. Yes the measurements were correct however they were exactly correct, if your bust us 44 don't buy XL (44) It won't fit.
Sorry I got burned. They offered 5% refund or 20% on a future order.chalk this up to lessons learned”
“Return policy should not be legal. On their website they state 30 day return. Received product, was not as described. Requested return form, received return information. Stated could receive 10% of purchase returned to card or be responsible for return shipping which would be $30-$40. Absurd! Will never order from them again!”
“What they advertise and what they send are completely different. When I asked for a refund and where to return the shoes, they gave me an address in China. They offered a 20% refund if I went away.
Don’t waste your money”
“Please avoid this company the items they advertise look nothing like what is sent to you. I was bit disappointed and asked for a refund after a few communications. I’ve heard nothing since basically I have two jumpers I will never wear and would never recommend this company. I wish I had read more reviews on this company as everyone seems to have Encountered the same problem that I have unhappy with the item that they’ve received unable to get a refund and return”
“Definetely a scam.
I bought a jacket from this site based on an Instagram ad. The pictures and offer seemed reasonable, however when the item arrived it was of very poor quality and significantly smaller than advertised. That's when the problems started. Despite the returns policy, the reality is they don't really accept returns.
They put multiple obstacles in the way.
They only have a single office in China - for all of their purchases. There's nothing wrong with that at all BUT all returns have to be returned there, at your own expense. If it's lost it's your liability. If they decide the return is invalid, it's your liability.
Returning the item can cost anywhere between £20 and £60 and still there's no gaurantee that you'll get your money back.
I've given up any chance of getting my money back”
“Absolutely horrific item sent. Clearly a complete scam. I never usually trust these sites and now wish I hadn’t. Arrived after three weeks not even in a box and absolutely batters. Made of the cheapest material ever. As some one else said that are so poor I wouldn’t even give to a charity shop. Now let’s see if I can get my money back. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE TOTAL SCAM COMPANY!!!”
“Jones London- I bought a pair of what looked like very nice shoes. £31.00
When they finally arrived they are very stiff, narrow and sharp far too tight to put your feet into. TERRIBLE COMPANY!! WEBSITE IS FALSE.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING!!”
“Entirely horrendous company, I'm glad that they have gone into administration.
I am a previous employee who (much like many of the other members of staff) received threats, sexist and harassive comments within days of working there, and I am owed thousands in wages.
I actually had to go in in person and record the conversation to be paid some of the money back, and they ignored signed for solicitors letters.
He's a crook, and so many of us felt so uncomfortable working there, I'm sorry those of you who won't get your refunds.”
“They took months to refund me. When I eventually received the refund I also had a fraud of a few hundred pounds taken from the account I used to pay them. It appears a Barclays Pingit account was set up in order to transfer the money to. Might be a coincidence but as I only used this particular account online this once, might not be!”
“I too am a former employee, and can agree the owner Roger Jones treated his staff very poorly, and used to talk in a rude and sexist manner to many of the staff. They were very much aware that they were withholding money for returns. I am also owed wages. I am glad to see they are gone.”
“I have just had a look at their filings for Companies House and it looks highly unlikely the company would ever be coming back (in its old form) since it's gone into liquidation.
You'll either have to contact your bank (since with credit and some debit cards) you'll have insurance on transactions (companies pay a premium or a charge to be able to use card payments on their merchant/business accounts with a bank), Paypal might be easier (it's why I always pay using Paypal whenever/where ever possible).
Liquidation means they have to sell their assets to cover the debt to the creditors and pay them back, so if you claimed a refund using Paypal it would likely be considered just another debt to them they'll have to pay off (but not to you to Paypal) or in your banks case a debt to them.
They'll now be trying to sell their assets off to cover how much they owed.”
“I am a former employee, the company treats its staff very badly. The owner Roger Jones is very abusive and aggressive and he did not pay me my wages, he still owes me £800
I'm not surprised they went into liquidation”
