“I placed an order for a Christmas gift before their cut-off date to receive them and when I followed up because of not having received an update, they replied that they couldn't guarantee arrival before Christmas any longer. Even though two weeks had passed since placing the order, it was STILL being "processed".
Don't falsely advertise and entice people that their order will arrive in time. Additionally, be a responsible company by sending an update when you know that you won't meet the promised date, so that they can cancel the order if need be. If I hadn't followed up with them, I wouldn't have known AND I wouldn't have a gift for the intended person. Completely unprofessional and money grabbing.
On a good note.... at least I found out today so that I can get something else in time.
Now hoping that they'll be able to handle taking care of a cancellation and refund.”
