“I purchased a cooker hood and it was installed by our contractor in accordance with the Luxair specifications and guidelines.
The noise levels are ridiculously high and Luxair refuse to do anything about it and try to blame the way it has been installed.
I have had the sound decibels tested by a sound engineer, results as follows:
Level 1:
Max 104.9 dB
Avg: 84.4 dB
Level 2:
Max 108.6 dB
Avg: 85.0 dB
Level 3:
Max: 102.3 dB
Avg: 85.4 dB
Boost:
Max: 102.4 dB
Avg: 84.7 dB
The engineer originally stated the reason was the distance from Extractor Hood to the Duct outlet was root cause of the problem in addition to any bends in the ducting.
We had the extractor fan disconnected from the ducting by our onsite kitchen installers as requested by Luxair and the engineers tested the sound levels again and there was no difference to the noise levels. A video of this was sent to Luxair but they then replied saying disconnecting the fan from the ducting was not a valid test despite them asking us to try that.
They have come up with every excuse under the sun to avoid taking any sort of accountability that the fan is much noisier than advertised. They simply reply with 1000 word essay of technical jargon trying to defend themselves and I expect they will do the same here in response on Trustpilot!
The also keep claiming the duct is 8 meters in length but it is exactly 6 meters with only 2 bends.
Our neighbour in the flat above us can hear it and we have subsequently paid to have acoustic insulation installed around the housing of the hood but there is still no improvement.
We are stuck with a cooker hood which we paid over £1,300 for and now have to replace it with another one from a different company.
Shame on you Luxair for selling cooker hoods which are to loud and not as advertised. And shame on you for your total disregard to take accountability and resolve the problem.”
“we bought an automatic wall vent which costs about 345 euro and it never worked properly! When we contacted cc they asked tighten the spring, which doesn't even have the quality of a spring in a biro/pen! We contacted cc again and then I made a review in truspilot re:the quality, I was actually shocked with cc THREATENING PHONE CALL to remove my reviews from all social medias from their "MANAGER" ! And I am blocked by them in truspilot, my review had gone hidden, they blocked me from fb! They made me spam in Google review. No wonder why don't have many bad reviews! From my experience never fall on their promises, if had any chance to upload a voice clip I would have definitely shown their real face here from their phone call record!! I even worried whether they send someone to break into my house at night,, if I say so, you can understand what kind of a callback it was!! Definitely, we have involved garda on it!!
TO luxair I only have one thing to say, its a shame when you don't make quality products, and blocking people when they make a real review, why don't you just fight back with quality products instead! I have spend 345euro on a 5 euro quality product!
I was told by the "manager" that they cannot assure their product work on bad weather 🤣 come on! a wall vent is a suppose to keep outside and it is not something like I pack it back when the weather goes bad! Otherwise, you need to highlight it in your award winning product description that "it is not safe to use it on bad weather" !!
Now just because of their product my energy bills are going up on a airtight, mechanical ventilation house, because the vent never gets closed by its own! And now I have to be ready to welcome mould soon as it is causing wetness in my kitchen!
And luxair, are you actually paying your employee for a customer care service or you paying your employees to threaten your customer for their reviews!
Be careful if you are thinking to buy it!!!”
“I was looking to purchase a 90cm Curva black glass hood and was looking for help/quotation with the installation of it. I had assumed, this was an available service as I read on the luxair website (if you click on 'Delivery Information' at the bottom of the homepage) the following:
"Installation Service - We now offer a connection or installation service Upon Request Only, please contact our service option for a quote. 01765641888"
I phoned to speak to the service department to get a quote for installation but was very abruptly told that there is no installation option and the service engineers can only help with spare part installation. I mentioned that this is not as per the website and that the website should be updated to make this clear as it does not mention anything about being for spare parts only. At this point I was told that this is for spare parts only and I was again wrong as somewhere else on the website it says that there are no engineers available for several months as they are booked. This is contradictory.
There are 2 main issues here:
1. The luxairHoods website is not clear and at the moment states that there is an installation service available on request. If this is not the case any longer that's of course up to the business operator but then please update your website with the current business service available in all sections that needs to apply.
2. Most importantly for me, the way that my call was handled and the way I was spoken to as a potential new customer looking to purchase goods and additional services was very, very poor and I am very unhappy with the way that I was dealt with.
It's really disappointing as I really liked the look of the product but I just can't get over the call so will not be placing an order.”
