“I am currently awaiting Made To Last's delivery company (Green2) to collect a USED and damaged sofa that they delivered on Wednesday, it is now Friday. I was informed the corner sofa bed was "brand new" (although a clearance item - see photo of attached email indicating it was brand new), and paid only roughly £400 less for it (approx £1700 instead of £2100). The sofa clearly has about 12 months of wear, came with a disgusting used sofa bed matress inside it that I would need to dispose of (what was the plan there?!?) and has multiple wear, tears, grease marks and to top it all off, a MOTH! So now I have moths in my brand new house, great!!!
The current situation is that Green2 cannot collect the sofa until the following Tuesday, leaving me to store the sofa (WITH MOTHS!) in my house for 6 days. I have only been offered an apology, zero recourse (for taking a day off work and now being expected to take another day off work!!!)”
“A SOFA BED YOU WILL HAVE TO PLUMP DAILY IF YOU WANT IT TO BE FUNCTIONAL AND NOT TO LOOK CHEWED UP...
Bought sofa bed from them... £1300 ... after a year it is impossible to sit on... cushions are so thin and I feel like I am better off sleeping and sitting on the floor... and that would be ok if they did anything about it after I complained... They told me it is my own fault because I have NOT PLUMPED the cushion enough, which is a lie as I was plumping the cushions once a week. Any sofa that needs daily plumping should not go into productions as it is simply ridicolous. What a horrible customer service... I was offered for the technician to come over and after I accepted I was told I will have to pay for his visit. They have lied and try to buy time thinking I will not want the technician to come. I have contacted them in January, NOT IN FEBRUARY, and their technician have still not been in the area. Now, a year later, technician never came. That would mean that there is no tecnicians in Essex, 1h away from London, for the last 12 MONTHS, which is a pure and simple lie. Any company that is not able to resolve an issue so small in this time period should shut their buissniss down and yes it is very frustrating when you are being deceived and lied to. Their so called experts in the factory can not see the cushions have not been taken care of. It is another lie. If they had Sherlock at their disposal he certanly would not be in their factory stuffing feathers in their cushions. And if they made thousands sofas a month as they claim they would not be grinding for 2 cushions... I know times are hard and you are getting out of buisniss but lack of care for your consumers will only shut you down faster.
MADE TO LAST IS NOT TAKING ANY RESPONSIBILITY and their colleague KINJAL is a very rude person. Every time I had to chase him to replay trough emails, calls and their facebook page. He wrote " I can apologize but there is nothing to apologize for!" .They are commiting a fraud as their name states it is made to last... in fact after a year I can only bin the £1300 sofa bed I have bought from them... Oh yes, I was kindly offered to replace cushions but to pay for them with MY OWN MONEY.
The only reason I bought this sofa in the first place is the matress, which is supposed to be thick and good, whic is not the case. It is nither thick or good and the metal pole that goes across the bed cuts your back in half, so while your head and your legs are hanging, the pole is pushing your back upwards.
People need to know this to stay clear of them”
“I ordered my sofa on 27/08/2021 with a delivery date announced for 05/11/2021 and the full delivery was completed on 16/02/2022 after endless missteps from made to last and their delivery company. Extreme delays with last minute warning, delivered a broken sofa 10 weeks late, delivered the replacements pieces late again. Offered a £100 compensation that does not even represent a 10% discount. The delivery men majorly damaged my hardwood floors whist assembling the sofa. An absolute chaos from day 1 with no responsibility taken from made to last other than empty apologies and a ridiculously insulting compensation. Stay away from them at all costs. The sofa isn’t even that great, the fabric is already fluffing off and it’s not very comfortable as the sitting area isn’t flat so we sink in. Steer clear, they are absolute thieves and I really hope no one else has to experience the terrible time I’ve had with them for a disappointing item and most likely my deposit gone with the damage caused. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!!”
“I ordered sofabed which I thought very good value, with a wood frame and an impressive range of upholstery fabrics. It was ready before the expected delivery date.”
