“Misleading. I redeemed some Mindful Chef vouchers on last Oct. In the first welcome email, they stated that "the balance will be applied as credit against your future orders until fully used up.". That makes me unaware that the vouchers have an expiration date. Days ago, when I tried to order again, I found that my credit in my account was gone and the system was going to charge my card instead. There is no way you can check your credit on the website. When I emailed them for a check, they replied my vouchers were expired on December 31, 2023, but as a "goodwill gesture," they had "extended" them for 2 months, but without notifying the customer!
Mindful Chef first misled me in the welcome email "The balance will be applied as credit against your future orders until fully used up." The 2-month "goodwill gestures" extension is a joke to customers, as Mindful Chef should notify the customer in advance if they really care about their "goodwill", not tell them after it has expired. They even keep sending emails telling me that I still have "XXX" credits in your account every month, but they do not remind you that the vouchers will expire. Maybe they really want to mislead you and don't want you to use it so they can maximise their profits. Totally misleading and unethical, be careful if you use their vouchers (I would rather stay away from them); you really need to check carefully if there is any expiration date; don't rely on them.”
“Meals which I changed (following instructions) were ignored and meals I am unable to eat, were sent. Complaints are ignored. The recipes often have missing instructions or very misleading ones.
I have just complained today, as I was yet again sent meals we are unable to eat. The meals they have sent, were NOT the meals I ordered. (mussels again!!) dispute three previous issues with mussels all of which were ignored) the mussels again arrived were smashed, I have previously tried to use the unbroken ones, but the bits of smashed up shell in the food making it inedible.
Their answer to my complaint today about not receiving the meals I ordered (and YES I did follow the instructions) was to give the meals to the neighbours! And they have cancelled my subscription! No apology nothing. They are unprofessional, rude and couldn’t give a flying fig about their customers. They do not know how to provide a service and I am sure they will be out of business very soon.”
“Have been trying them for a while for the food. While it was convenient and the recipes good in flavour, the communication and mishaps are quite annoying.
I have applied for the NHS discount (and it has Never been applied to any of my purchases)!!
Some of the food has come squashed and meat leaking!!!... Never replied with an Apology!!!
And now, brought a one of purchase of frozen drinks/smoothies (ordered 2 last week) Only today I've open them (I've been working all week) and There are 3!! packets missing (out of %!) :(( I'm sooo unhappy and frustrated that I have taken the time to write a review !”
