Avoid. Unfair returns policy. I’m £234 out of pocket with wallpaper I don’t want!

I returned a roll of wallpaper back totally undamaged I had a witness. The roll was well packed with bubble wrap. The company returned it to me stating the cellophane was damaged. They refused to give me a refund. Why would I pay £15.00 to post it back if I thought it was damaged. I am considering the Small Claims Court

Paid £7.99 for delivery & didn't arrive within timeline advised. Therefore arrived too late & now have to pay postage once again to return items.

As a small business we really appreciate your thoughts on your experience of shopping with us, we take on board all our customers feed back as this is essential for us to see where we may have fallen short of a customers expectation or where we have exceeded expectations. Our aim is always try to meet the expectations. For clarification for other customers as there appears through our correspondence regarding your order a misunderstanding of the timescales to which we process and dispatch an order. The dispatch timescale, which we currently state of being 2 - 3 working days refers to the allocated time scale that we confirm to customers that it takes for us to dispatch an order, through feedback from our customers this time allows for customers to contact us to make amendments to the products which have been ordered, amend delivery information and allows a customer to change their mind - prior to us fully processing the order. We feel this length of time really helps to accommodate any changes a customer may have. The delivery lead time refers to the estimated time frame once your order has been dispatched for your order to be with you, which at the present moment is: UK mainland: 1 - 3 working days Northern Ireland & Remote areas: 4 - 7 working days. I really do apologise that the has been confusion or a misunderstanding with these timeframes, but through our communication we have acted on this and made the information even clearer through our dedicated delivery information page and through the notifications which we send out to customers. RIP OFF! THEY CHARGE YOU A FEE (20%) FOR RETURNING USED ITEMS! I ordered 2 rolls of expensive wallpaper but in the end I only needed one. Luckily I put it up straight away as there are only 14 days to send it back. When I asked about a refund they referred me to their terms and conditions that say they charge a "Restocking Fee". I have never heard of that before - no reputable company I have ever used has charged any fee at all for returning an item. I have learnt a lesson here. Don't purchase from a tinpot company like this one. Stick with a reputable one like John Lewis.

Sample was so small. Didn’t include all the pattern or colours so I could match. Had to go looking everywhere to try and find a shop where I could see a reasonable sample. Waste of time and money.
