I've posted a 3* rating simply because I believe that a -5 wouldn't get posted. I would say AVOID Mr. Clutch and here's my experience with them at the Southampton branch. I rang and made an appointment to have the clutch changed on my Chrysler Voyager, I was told they could do the job on a Wednesday and they would need the car for one day. This is a normal working day for me so I had to arrange to take a day off from work which didn't sit too well with my employer, anyway I arrived at the centre at around 8 a.m. and waited for the shop to open. I assume it was the shop manager who arrived first and he approached me sat in my car, in his best English ( I'm assuming he was possibly Polish) he tells me there is a problem for my car and that he cannot fix it as the parts from China have not arrived and not available for 3 weeks. I asked why he didn't phone to tell me this the evening before, he replied that he did not know the parts would not arrive, so I questioned how did he know the parts weren't here as he hadn't yet opened the shop, he said he knew before, so back to my first question " so why didn't you ring me then?" he then became agitated and began ranting about not being able to get gloves or anything else because it was all coming from China and was late because of Covid-19. Ok, I thought to myself, I'll just have to wait 3 weeks then, so I ask if he can order a clutch and fit it when it arrives in 3 weeks time, no this is not possible he replied. With that I left thinking I may have dodged a bullet anyway, I really didn't expect my car to be fitted with an inferior Chinese made clutch anyway which would probably not last very long. So I'm not sorry I didn't get anything done, I'm raging that there was no communication and that I lost a day's work unnecessarily, and I wouldn't recommend Mr. Clutch to anyone unless you're happy to have inferior quality parts fitted and accept shoddy service

Done a MOT and car services recently in Kingston. Not sure about mechanical service level but definitely a disappointing front desk. Left wondering why I would want to visit it again.

Had my clutch and gear box change £950 but when I went to pick the car up it wouldn't start call him over he then started it with a booster and said he forgot to charge it drove for about 10miles turned it of wouldn't start called up he came round started it and said it needs a check and so on now he says it needs a new battery £95

The service was carried out fine as far as I am aware however after a couple of days the service light came up on the dashboard again. Not sure why. Also booked the Gold Plus but still have not received my privilege card. When queried with the garage advised that the manager (who has now left) entered the wrong Service level in the system. Am now left wondering whether my car received the Gold Plus service I paid for or the Gold service that was entered into the database.

Service is ok no the best!they easy can break any thing and make you pay!... Mot:is cheaper than other places but they failed my car and maked me to rebook just for a faulty indicator bulb !!!

Staff are very friendly but an additional charge added on that I had not been told about on website when booking or on phone when arranging time. Often feels like I'm being taken for a mug at Mr Clutch

Friendly staff, quickly took the car in. However I booked the car in online for an MOT and silver service, but was not given a time slot or estimated time of finishing. I phoned the branch and was told to drop the car off at 9am and that they would hofully get to it first. I had to then wait around In the area until they phoned. This turned out to be 5 hours later to the be charged an additional amount for a light bulb which surely should be included in a silver service. This operation should be better and a singular replace my bulb should be in a service which checks your lights anyway.

I booked in for MOT and a gold service for which i was going to wait when I returned only the MOT had been done.To be fair rhis was the only time that they have let me down the remainder of times the service and value for money have been excellent Mike Brown

Mot was ok was a fail repair quote was massively expensive fixed 137 cheaper inc new mot

Customer service is poor.. the guy did not even make eye contact..short answers given like he couldn't be bothered. Overall, it requires improvement.

I made an online booking at Mr Clutch (Reading) for an "Aircon Recharge and Clean" service. At the time I was surprised that I was only able to book a date and not a time slot. I called the branch straight after booking and agreed an appointment time the following day. I asked how long the process would take and was advised up to an hour. I arrived at my appointment 15 minutes early and left them to it. I returned around an hour later expecting to happily wait out the last part of the service in the waiting room. However on my approach to the branch I noticed my car hadn't even moved. The staff at the the service desk told me they were having problems with the machine and they had moved the car back out into the car park, which I find hard to believe as it was found exactly as left. They eventually got the car back onto the machine and performed the service. I was left waiting in the waiting room and was offered no more than a brief explanation and apology. The service was successfully completed and I finally got my car back two and a half hours after my appointment time. The member of staff at the service desk did apologise once more before I left but I felt it too little, too late. The reason for three stars however is that I paid only £32.95 with a voucher code for a service that usually costs £64.95 and was happy with the newly chilled aircon in my car. Not so sure I would use again, but despite the time taken it offered good value for money.

I booked my mot & service online where I was informed to take my car in before 10am I dropped my car off at 9am my car was not ready for collection until 15 45pm I think it would be a much better service if the customer was given a booked in time because I don't think that I should take over six and a half hours for an mot & service

Would be nice if a rough time frame was given when booking in for a service. When i called to confirm something i had already confirmed it took 5 attempts to get through after the line kept ringing out. Good job on the car and thank you.

Rude receptionist, said I was too early even though the website asks for customers to arrive 10 mins before MOT appointment! - his attitude stunk but otherwise good service.

Very abrupt at reception. Could have have been more helpful with spending 5 minutes to replace a bulb and passing car through mot. But instead told very directly "car has failed. You will have to get the bulb replaced somewhere else, as we are too busy, then bring the car back tomorrow before we close". It left me without a car to get to work. I wasn't very happy about that.

It was a quick service when I booked in on line and arranged my time around that appointment for an MOT but I was phoned the following day saying they hadn't got a tester for that day. When I received the results I booked in for a retest and some work over and above the mot, this is where you need to be careful as the online price and the price at the outlet are different, which is very off putting. Not sure if I'd use again. All the work was good though and the mot very thorough with good advisory notes about the condition of your vehicle
