“When I purchased the car check, I hoped to get also info of any accidents the car might have been involved in. But I realized that I only got info about write offs. Thinking about it I assume, that the info about less severe accidents I was keen to get, is probably not publicly available. Otherwise the info I got through your check was very helpful.”

Hi Ursula, yes you're correct, we (and any other vehicle checker) would not have such data to share unfortunately. Ideally (and in few cases) you would be relying on the honesty of the seller, possibly in conjunction with any repair bills they may have kept. Thanks.

Hi Ian, thanks for your comments and feedback. It seems that this mileage entry may have been incorrectly (manually) entered at the point it was sent to the DVLA, possibly by the MOT technician. We simply show the data we receive from the numerous sources and do not manually enter or edit the data. If you have bought this car and are worried that this may have a future impact on you, it might be worth contacting the National Mileage Register (ran by HPI) who can amend erroneous mileages if you have sufficient evidence. Thanks.

“I wanted to find information regarding whether my vehicle had been a cat d car.the initial report did not tell me ,but it told me to call a number,I did so and spoke to a very helpful guy ,I think his name was Don,he gave me the information I needed,and explained what cat d meant,afterwards I had a better idea of what the value of the car was and how much I could sell it for.”

“Good service, good information about the car, and good value. I would definitely recommend taking the option that includes checking to see if there is finance outstanding for the sake of a few extra pounds. Would have given 5 stars except that the car values given were way way off the mark (far too low)”

“I almost did not bother checking the car I was interested in but glad I did as the results showed that the car was a Cat D write off 2 years ago. The owner of the car did not know as it was a Cat D and was shocked when I told him. I did not proceed with the purchase. Thank you for the car check it was very usefull”

“You do a basic cheap check at around £5, a more advanced one at around £10 and a super duper one at around £15. For me you should do a basic one at around £6.50 and a top drawer one at around £12.50 get rid of the one in the middle. Regards Steve”
